Knowing Nas's life and listening to this, it sounds like watching a fiction movie and seeing them shooting lots of guys but in your heart you really know that no one is dying. I just can't connect with it. |

thegoodjoehunt:I am not going to sound categorical about something I ain't sure of but Nas was born and raised in Queenbridge, lost a childhood friend in Illwill(shot dead). Even his brother Jungle got shot but survived so there is now way you can convince me that Nasir knows not what he's talking about with those lines. |

If you want to speak in terms of all time, then right off the top of my head I'd place Rakim the GOAT, Big, PAC, Big Daddy Kane, special Ed... damn I'm gonna stop there cause I'll be here all day with this. Jay aint shit. As for Beyonce, she's good but there were many chicks around at the same time she and her girls came out who'd smoke the ish out of her in the vocals department. The only thing she had going for her over the others is that she looked like a mulatto while most of the other chicks were chocolate, in which at the time wasn't seen as being salable to the greater audience outside of the black community, and her poppa was her manager which gave her a giant edge over the others. |

Some people hate the highly successful and love those that seem lowly and oppressed, that's why they keep saying things like rakim,kRS one,big daddy kane are the greatest. Shit they were good but I'll compare them to quuaresma in football, in the rap game you have to be consistent and forthcoming with ur albums on a reg. Nas can't keep rapping the way he has been doing since 96 and expect an applause, the game has changed and he has to deal with that, that's why u can't f with jigga cos he even chages the game himself. I won't be able to stop should I start posting on why I rate Nasir above every other MC out there, both alive and dead. That is how much of an influence this Nigga has been to me. Listening to Nasir is like listening to a poet, a sage and an oracle at the same time. So many things I have learnt, knowledge I have gained from the message his lyrics convey. Other rappers rap..Nasir MINISTERS! His lyrics exalt and edifies my mind. I could go on and on homie so don't come here all sentiments laden selling us that 'people hate the successful and favour the oppressed crap'. As for your video game logic....absolutely flawed. Nintendo ISS to evolution on PS3 is an improvement so if I'm to buy your logic, are you saying that the hiphop of today is an improvement when compared to what many have come to agree is the golden age of hiphop?
