The initial bitter spat between the FG and Ogun state govt over who should re-construct the Ijebu-ode Road, a federal road, appear to have been settled. The governor of Ogun state, Ibikunle Amosun, has moved his men out of the road for the federal govt to continue the re-construction of the road.

The governor has obviously bowed to COMMON SENSE. When this controversy was first reported http://premiumtimesng.com/regional/128700-fg-will-not-deter-me-from-re-constructing-ijebu-ode-road-ogun-governor-says.html I argued that it didn't make sense for the governor to fight over a federal road. Even if the governor wanted to tarr the road, he should have worked in collaboration with the owner of the road, which is the FG. The state govt should have gotten consent from the FG. The governor of Akwa-Ibom and even Rivers state have done several federal roads but at no time has any controversy arisen. Even if you want to help me fix my house, you CANT do it without my permission. That is COMMON SENSE.

Anyway, it is common for ACN politicians to play politics with EVERYTHING. Life is much more than politics. After their initial gra gra, COMMON SENSE will always prevail

Common sense is relative. If the FG had acted promptly then there would have been no Initial gra gra from the Ogun state govt talkless of bowing to uncommon common sense of the FG

A simple question is why does this kind of fight always happen in opposition states. In Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Rivers and many others, there is no fight. Even when the state governments collaborate with the FG to fix the roads, they dont fight. Fighting only happens in opposition states, particularly ACN states, because they play politics with everything.

Obviously because those are mostly PDP states where the leaders are worthless and incompetent just like the federal government. They don't care if their people die on bad roads or not talk less being proactive on behalf of the people.

You are not doing your useless abuja uncles any favor with this thread because you are basically admitting that they are irresponsible and incompetent and only respond to their constitutional obligations when pushed.

The fact that the lazy and incompetent FG got off it's lazy asss because of Amosun's action to fix the road means Amosun won this round.

You peole are need to be confined to some bush or jungle for the sake of humanity...

But, where is the common sense in FG awarding the road reconstruction contract in 2010, did nothing and coming back in 2013 to do gra-gra ?

True, Amosun left the works to the the true owners but this would never have happened if the road had been fixed promptly. To avoid opposition playing politics with projects, FG should attend to them on time. If there's no FG responsibility lying fallow, there would be non to play politics with.

So you'r disputing what your governor said with his buccal cavity? Incredible! If you have pedigree in ACN you can put a phone call across to aides of the governor to confirm the story. Otherwise, verify the story from party thugs on ground. Some of us speak only of what we have seen and touched. We are not saints but we dont tell lies

It is quiet obvious dat OP is one of the many underdogs used by GEJ to destabilize d opposition party. U r nt to b really blamed cos i can c u make ur living frm it. I knw if Ogun state is controlled by Papa Deceive Pikin party,d contract would be awarded nd d moni shared equally. U wil only get to hear abt d contract on newspaper and NTA 12.

LOL. ACN state have some of the worst roads I have seen in Nigeria. Even Edo state that is being praised just have a few good roads Like Akpakpava and Ekenwan and a few others that are ok. Many of the inner roads are a mess. If Amosun is serious about doing roads, he should be fixing the roads at Lambe, Sango, Ajuwon, Akute and environs. Ogun state has incredibly terrible roads and Amosun is talking about fixing an FG road. Talk about shameless propaganda.

And please tell you sponsor in Alausa that Alimosho is still a show of shame! Gully infested roads all the way! cheesy

Seemed to me the Gov wanted to score some cheaps points. I felt the best way Amosun could have shamed the FG was to fixed all states roads and then it would be glaring amongst every1. Else this is just a case of kettle calling pot black.

On the part of the FG, it's disheartening to see after about 3yrs the contract was awarded nothing visible had been done untill d state gov intervention. Just make sure u guys fixed it to standard and not a rush work. Be competent for once... haba!
