Now ask yourself, who is the problem of the Northerners?

Actually, YES it is.

Their version of Islam is that brought in by the Fulani fanatic, Usman Dan Fodio in his Jihad invasions from northwest Africa which swept through northern Nigeria 200 years ago. Dan Fodio established the Sokoto Caliphate, which dictates the Islamic direction of the north till date.

Prior to Dan Fodio's invasion, the north practiced the same type of Islam as the southern Yorubas, which combined the strictness of Islam with the wisdom and tolerance of traditional religions. Dan Fodio saw this 'mixture' as an 'impurity', and killed off all the northern leaders who preferred that form of African Islam.

The result: the Hausas became almost completely removed from their culture and heritage, even relinquishing their native names, to the point whereby today, many of them haven't a clue what their original traditions and religions were etc. They've become almost completely immersed in a borrowed Arabic self-conceptualisaion and identity. In effect they don't really see themselves as 'AFRICANS' any more, despite their dark skin. They identify culturally more with the Arab world, than with their African brethren. This is why they always seem to lack compunction or restraint when in conflict against their African neighbours, whom they've come to regard as 'infidels'.

The solution: Demystification of the Sokoto Caliphate, and a corresponding movement geared towards returning the north to their African roots through comprehensive, radical social engineering and education.
