As you all are aware this nation is going through a series of challenges in the areas of politics, law and order, health, education to name just a few. Due to the endemic nature of these challenges do you think seeking divine intervention to librate this nation from its current state of decadence is an option? If so let us share your comments.

For how long are we Gonna pray?
Re: Can Prayers Change Nigeria? by GM008: 5:40pm On Apr 15, 2008
That answer can only come from within; do you believe there is a God that answers prayers?

Yes ofcourse!, prayer can change Nigeria cos it has been the main thing that has kept Nigeria going. Nigeria would have been in crises or doomed if not for the prayers offered in this country to the Almighty God.

The only thing prayer can do in Nigeria is to cause a violent earthquake/lightening in Nigeria killing all those who love to drive the country backward. cool

God our Father has blessed Nigeria with rich human and natural resources -- enough for EVERYBODY.

We are the ones that put Nigeria in this state by means of hypocrisy, corruption, laziness, indolence, anti-intellectualism and a generally lackadaisical attitude to things.

The solution lies in our hands. God should not be blamed for our own free (and wrong) choices.

Imhotep I couldn't have said it better

Bawomolo, I see your point and your are right.

It will take more than prayers, but also our actions.
Also keep in mind that there is a way to pray. We shoud ask for the right things not jsut ask God to change the situations. Rather we should ask God to use us to change the situation. We should ask God to use us as His instruments.
We can't ask God to change this situation and then sit there waiting for manna to fall from heaven.

Worse still we pray and do the very things that are opposed to our prayers.
Imagine a pastor/i'mam who says he is praying for Nigeria's progress and greatness, yet blessing the 10th mansion of a PHCN official who has given him air tickets abroad severally, given the church/m'osque super size generators and owns many luxury vehicles that his remuneration as Director in 20years cannot buy.
Hypocrisy & self deceit of the highest level.
James 2:26
For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
