Boko Haram militants struck a police and army barracks today on Bama and Bankai in Borno state killing several police officers and civilians. The army claimed the attack on their barack in Bama was repelled by soldiers guarding the facility. Eyewitnesses said the militants riding in Hilux pick up truck did extensive damage with rocket propelled grenades and Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs). JTF spokesperson told Saharareporters they are yet to fully assess the damage and cannot speak on the level of casualties at this point.
