FG Opens Negotiation With Nasarawa Militia Group Over Police Officers Still Held by fkaz(m): 8:15pm On May 12, 2013
Facts emerged today that no fewer than four police officers are still being held hostage by members of the Ombatse militia group in Alakyo, Eggon area of Nasarawa state. The group had in an ambush against a combined team of police, SSS and Civil Defence men detailed to raid their shrine last Tuesday killed about 100 of the security agents.
As a result, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar who was on a visit to the state today declared that instead of engaging the brutal religious group in another bloody clash, the federal government has opted to dialogue with the militia with a view to freeing the police officers still being held by the group
The IGP was in the state in the company of the Minister of Police Affairs, Navy Capt. Caleb Olubolade and the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG), Zone IV, Mr. Mike Zukumor. They arrived Lafia, the state capital aboard a police chopper.“We are making every peaceful effort to ensure that some of our men still being held hostage are released unhurt”, the IGP noted, adding that there was an ongoing dialogue both inthe state and at other quarters with the Ombatse group on how to secure the release of the captured policemen.
The state governor, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura in his remarks also confirmed the negotiation with the militia group. According to him “the compounding issue is that the place is still insecure. It is not to say we can’t go there. We are trying to get anyone still alive there. We heard up to four men are still being held, but the police are working hard to free them.”

Very shameful that Nigeria dialogues with murderers, grants amnesty to terrorist then after all said and done we all will hear the same deceptive statements that criminals will be made to face the full wrath of the law.

NO WHERE in the article did it say that d FG intends to negotiate with the militant group. The concern of d IG and d Governor is just to secure the release ALIVE of any police officer still been held by d group, probably tru back channels b4 going in to disloge and punish the group.... By d way, d source for this 'report' is ireports.com, a Sensationist Online Blog. People ought to take dat into cognizance b4 believing all one reads

Hmmm,I remembered the old saying that: If u kill one person u will be arrested and charge for murder; if u kill ten people u will be taken to the Psychiatric hospital for insanitY test but when u kill a hundred people u will be invited for negotiation.

Gentlemen and Ladies,

Every life is precious! If the policemen are still alive, it is the duty of government to secure their lives.
If a dialogue can achieve that, then let it be.

By the way, una no hear say bullet no fit kill the men?
