The following activities have taken place in the nations foremost anti-corruption agency, the EFCC, in the last few years:

1 Credible leadership: the former EFCC chairman, Malam Nuhu Ribadu, described the Madam Waziri led EFCC as "corruption". He said "We saw thatcorruptionfought back at the end of 2007 in Nigeria when corruption took over...People like Farida Waziri,James Ibori and a couple of others who are still alive took over the EFCC and brought it to its knees"

http://mobile.punchng.com/output.php?link=http://www.punchng.com/news/my-removal-was-to-destroy-efcc-ribadu/

The then US secretary of state, Hilary Clinton, in 2009. said the Madam Waziri led EFCC has "fallen off in the last two years"

That was the EFCC inherited by GEJ in 2010. The first task for the govt was to replace the then discredited leadership of EFCC with a credible leadership. GEJ then appointed Ibrahim Lamorde, who said to be the engine room of the Ribadu led EFCC, as the new head of EFCC. That was followed by series of internal repositioning of the body to effectively perform its duty

Its now a "long list of jokes" because these are the sort of threads you hate to see. Anyway, whether you like it or not, we'll continue to bombard your hateful mind with reports you hate to see. If it becomes unbearable, you can take a break from NL or migrate to Buhariland.

The work of the EXECUTIVE, which is headed by the president, is to investigate and prosecute corrupt people. That is what the EFCC does on behalf of the president. It is the responsibility of a DIFFERENT arm of govt to convict and convict speedily.

The poster is a medical doctor who happened to graduate with lowest possible grades out of college. What other jobs do you think is appropriate for someone like that other than what he's currently doing on nairaland? Would you employ someone like him in your hospital? I advise you to cut him a slack.

If all these loud mouthed e-critics and ACN/CPC apologists really care about anti-corruption war in Nigeria, this is enough proof that EFCC is doing her job by arresting, investigating and arraigning presumably corrupt individuals. That is where their jobs stop. It is the job of the judiciary, which is another arm of government to expedite the hearing process, and sentence or exonerate these people.

But they will turn a blind eye to that fact, after all, the President should sentence them, exactly what their Buhari would have done. A President sentencing an accused.

The question is, if these people are really interested in anti-corruption war, why is it that none of them is pushing the CJN to set up a special anti-corruption court as she promised in her senate screening, as that will eliminate unnecessary adjournments? Why is no CPC/ACN member in the senate submitting a bill to the National Assembly for this kind of court to be hard coded into law?

It is only a bigoted mind that will not see the weakest link in the chain of our collective fight against corruption- the judicial process. That process must be reformed for us to get the right results, after all, under Ribadu, Odili got a perpetual injunction from this judiciary against EFCC arresting him. We should focus on building a system that will track and arrest corruption in a timely manner and have court cases decided in less than 1 year. EFCC cannot detain people indefinitely, they cannot even retain an accused in their custody after 48 hours unless the court deny such person bail. Why are people not focusing on these obvious facts? The answer is that the 'corruption' shout is part of politics to them.

I want to restate my position to the CJN to set up the anti corruption court that she promised in her senate screening. I want to see cases like that of Ifeanyi Uba, Tinubu, Ikuforiji, Nyame, Chimaroke Nnamani, Faruk Lawan and other accused persons decided this years.

What is the point of this thread? To show how a constrained EFCC continues to fall short of expectations?

eGuerrilla: What is the point of this thread? To show how a constrained EFCC continues to fall short of expectations?

No, sir. The thread confirms that the EFCC is doing its lawful work- investigating, arresting, prosecuting and securing conviction of corrupt people.

Sincerely, I did not read your write up. I only scanned it for one name which I did not see. Allison Madueke. Until this govt investigates and prosecutes her, then I will want to hear more of what they are 'seemingly' doing. Some of the names of the people you mentioned are not familiar to me but anyone who followed the subsidy saga kept hearing one name. Allision Madueke. Kindly tell the EFCC to do that first.

She works on behalf of the President. She is storing money abroad for herself, Jonathan and Madam Patience. Rumor has it that she is also storing money abroad for a possible civil war in 2015 to procure weapons from Israel.
