Yobe Governor Supports Emergency Rule by fkaz(m): 11:10am On May 15, 2013
The Yobe state Governor Ibrahim Gaidam has thrown his weight behind the imposition of state of emergency in the state by President Good luck Jonathan A statement issued by the Special Adviser to the Governor onMedia and Information, Abdullahi Bego, said the Governor agrees with Mr President on the imposition of state of emergency in the state as there is no alternative to peace.
“As everyone knows, there is no alternative to peace. The Yobe state Government therefore agrees with Mr President on the need to take more effective measures to address the problem of insecurity in the country” the statement says.
Governor Gaidam while supporting the decision of President Jonathan expressed regret that over the past few years, the problems of insecurity and criminality in the state and other states of the north have led to many deaths and injuries thereby causing untold hardship to millions of innocent people.
While calling on the good people of the state to be law abiding and to go about their normal business, the statementfurther said “the Gaidam led administration like always will continue to partner with security agents to ensure normalcy is restored across the state.
“The Governor assures the public that the state government will continue to work closely with the security agents and will ensure that the conduct reflects the spirit of the emergency declaration by Mr President and the rules of the engagement specified for that purpose.”
The Governor therefore calls on the people of the state not torelent in praying to Almighty God for the restoration of peaceand security in the state and the country in general.
Governor Gaidam’s decision is sequel to the declaration of state of emergency in Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states widely believe as stronghold of the radical Islamic sects the Boko Haram.
The recent declaration of state of emergency in the three states brings to four since the restoration of democracy in Nigeria in 1999 as plateau went through similar rule during the Obasanjo administration.

You had better be i support. Otherwise, you'll be thrown out like waste paper.

Something tells me these northern governors know more than we think they know. Let the FG keep eyes on them. My guess could be right
