Chelsea won the the Europa Title last night with a dramatic stoppage-time goal by Branislav Ivanovic to end the game 2-1 win over Benfica Yesterday (Wednesday 15th) The German defender sent the ball into the back of the net from Juan Mata’s corner! Understandably, Chelsea fans were ecstatic.

Fernando Torres had put Chelsea in the lead with a nicely executed solo goal around the 59th minute. 9 minutes later, Benfica equalized with a penalty, which was awarded after Cesar Azpilicueta decided to handle the ball in the box.

A big win for the club, but a bigger win for Rafa Benitez, who’s been walking in Robert Di Matteo’s shadow ever since he took over managing the club. It’s his first silverware at the English club (media reports indicate that when he leaves at the end of the campaign, Jose Mourinho will be quitting Real Madrid to return to coaching Chelsea for the second time.)

The win meant Chelsea became the first English club to win all three of UEFA’s major trophies.

In the midst of all the excitement, we just want Chelsea fans to CALM DOWN OKAY? IT’S ONLY THE EUROPA CUP.

You know, the one for the people who didn’t make it to the Champions league?

It’s not that big a deal.

At least Arsenal made it to the Champions League. And before It’s like laughing at your friend’s son for coming 4th position in a school for Talented Geniuses because your own son came First position in Zololo Experimental Community College.
