People have been jailed in countries like saudi arabia, bahrain, iran, russia etc for online comments. Look at what downloading articles did to Aaron Schwartz in the US.

Thanks to everyone who gave me constructive advice! I am sorry, but I will admit I am very ignorant when it comes to foreign affairs and countries.

The US are building massive data centers, it will be folly to think the US is/will be spying only on americans.
