Government Special Announcement:

This is to inform the General public
that the State Government’s ban on
the use of motorcycles in Oredo,
Egor and Ikpoba Okha Local
government Areas of the state will
take effect from Monday, 17th June
2013.
Government’s decision on the ban is
irrevocable.
Therefore, any commercial
motorcyclist who flouts the ban
order will be arrested and
prosecuted and the motorcycle
confiscated and destroyed publicly.
Law Enforcement Agencies and other
paramilitary organizations, including
the Neighourhood Watch and War
Against Indiscipline have been
instructed to ensure strict
compliance.
The ban on motorcycles also covers
such areas as Ugbowo, Oluku
Junction, Ekosodin, Aduwawa and
their environs.
Tricycles or keke NAPEP is also, by
this announcement, banned from
operating on all major roads in
Oredo, Egor and Ikpoba Okha Local
Government Areas from Monday,
17th June, 2013.

Oshiomole just broadcasted to the good people of Edo state this evening and frankly I was diappointed at the way he used the word ruthless through out the speech. Why do the last thing first and vice versa. You banned bikes in 3 local govt areas and used style to extend into ovia north east and partd of aduwawa. He even went ahead to say people should not bother to buy keke and that he was dialoguing with registerd bike men in benin to provide more jobs for them,provide more comrade buses and expect commercial bus owners to provide more buses,where will they get money from. Why not put the palliatives on a test run first before the ban? I was angered at how the task force demolished those shops n containers at main gate of uniben beyond repair its not like they are on the road sef,where does he expect those peeps to go? Oshiomole is now becoming a tyrant
