Apparently the President of the Federal republic did not appoint the service chiefs using the proper protocol. Therefore Justice Adamu Bello of the Federal High Court Abuja has declared it null-void-hollow and other such words.

According to the suit brought against the FGN by Festus Keyamo, the Executive contravened the constitutional protocols by not seeking the approval of the Senate before selecting the service chiefs. Those listed as defendants in the suit are the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Attorney-General of the Federation and all the Service Chiefs.

Though this is one victory for democracy only posterity knows just what this means for the armed forces currently battling the BH.
