50calibre: Nice one! This is designed to send a message to the US, that Nigeria is willing to forge new relationships with other world powers should its position and influence in Africa be undermined.

Please GEJ, add russia to your diary, after visiting china, schedule a trip to russia.
y r u taking it personal? after all the same Chinese president came to Africa and did not visit Nigeria, yet u did not react like dis. Pls Hw is Obama not coming to Nigeria undermining Our influence in Africa ? And hw has it made those countries he visited more influential in Africa ?

Ajengogo: It's about time we showed those cocky americans that Nigeria is a force to reckon with in the global arena, not just in Africa. Obama must be feeling the heat right now from american businessmen who frantically wanted him to include Nigeria in his itinerary of recent African visit. America's loss is now China's gain! Long live Nigeria, long live China!
instead of thinking of your country's gain u r concern with America and china

Demswear4u?:

Rossikk:

The FG had actually arranged for the China trip to occur DURING Obama's visit to Africa. It was only after repeated appeals from the US state department for Abuja to delay the trip to avoid embarrassment to Obama, that Abuja finally backed down, and postponed the trip till after Obama's exit.
