networkgenuis:
It hasn't been blocked. MTN BIS still works on Android wella. Check your configuration, there may be a mistake somewhere. And if blackberry.net doesn't work, try gmail.com.
Its still working on my phone, guess its for new subscribers.

adewasco2k: I guess its network but blackberry.net is dead at my end.

though i have a feeling, they are planning to stop it.
reasons:

1. some people complained of it not working again when they changed apn
2. yesterday for like 20 minutes, blackberry.net was not connecting, later connected and browsed well
3. now it connects but is dead...i mean open doesnt even try to load...when you click go, it just give you an instant cant not connect.

botton-line, guys start looking for another alternative, just incase i am right with my assuptions, though i pray its network ish down here.
I guess its the disconnecting and connecting issh. Make dem no stop am ooo.

There's nothing to fear. Blackberry.net still connects and is blazing fast on my Galaxy Tab.
If blackberry.net doesn't connect, use gmail.com
MTN is only having some issues with their network.
Wish you happy web surfing

Re: Smart Data Subscription For Your Android Devices. by WackyJ1(m): 10:52am On Jul 17, 2013
I don't understand again, mine connects but it does not browse, i had to switch to the normalapn. browse then leave the page open before i now disconnected and then reconnected with blackberry.net, and i noticed that only those tabs that had pghes already open could open another page but opening a new tab doesn't work infact nothing else works apart from those tabs. something is happening and ALL THIS IS ON THE BBCDAY I SUBSCRIBED FOR TODAY

THE bEST DATA SUBSCIBTION IS STILL

BBCDAY TO 21600 for N100 for 24hrs

BBCWEEK to 21600 for N490 for 7 days

and.......

BBC to 21600 for N1500 (i heard its now N800) for 30days (plus 1 week if u apply auto renewal)

all on the Most Terrible Network (empty-hen)

all u have to do is to change ur access point name(APN) to "Blackberry.net"

for nokia u have to create new settings and put ur packet data access name as "Blackberry.net"

leave all usernames and password BLANK!

work on ALL devices!

i dont hv an andriod, i use it on my PC with nokia PC suite.

what u will do is select manual setting and put"Blackberry.net" is the APN box then connect!

its is not unlimited oh! Infact i dey alwaes finish my own grin

I'm much around bro.
I've been in the lab preparing a solution to this current MTN mess.
Re: Smart Data Subscription For Your Android Devices. by networkgenuis: 4:00am On Jul 18, 2013
Against all expectations, MTN is trying to stop the use of their BIS plan on other OS platforms other than BB. Even my course mate working with them(who grudgingly passes me some info) was surprised too.
What is worthy of note is that some people are still using theirs(I'm doing so right now).
My friend (not me) believes that it could be a temporary ploy to free up their
overburdened server a bit and also to ascertain the amount of stress non BB users exert on their server through the use of BIS. This is because when magic sim got blocked, lots of people took the next available option; MTN BIS.
My BBC plan was supposed to expire yesterday evening, but up till now it hasn't(I hope it remains this way grin tongue)
and my airtime is still intact.
I'm going to be posting some temporary measures we can still use to surf until something more concrete and big works.
