The death toll in a collapsed building, early Thursday, in Lagos has risen to six.

Emergency rescue officials told PREMIUM TIMES that seven people, including two children aged 2 and 4, have been rescued from the rubble.

The 3-storey building at Oloto Street, Ebute Meta, collapsed at about 2.35 a.m. trapping about 10 people.
Rescue efforts are still ongoing.

Sad news.

Most buildings in Lagos, especially Ebute-Meta/Mushin axis are long over due for demolition.
A couple of them were built over 100yrs old and haven't undergone any form of repair not to talk of reconstruction.

Its going to cost a lot tho'.

Is this builidng made of mud? Government needs to check and review a lot of structures in Ebute-Metta

Which agency is responsible for the regulation of old building structure, because that is an old building am seeing.
