Hello cardoctor:

I noticed that my car does not enter "park" again. Please, what is the way out.
Re: Automatic Gearbox Problems by cardoctor(m): 1:48pm On Aug 02, 2016
You need to have your gear selector stalk and the range sensor (the selector on the gear box) set properly in sequence. Im sure you may have had a recent job done on the gearbox.

It needs diagnosis. Is the computer commanding a shift? Are there codes? Get a competent tech to check live PIDs

scanned the car, no codes, computer doesn't seem to command shift, the car just keeps revving in first gear, just like that

@car gurus

I need your urgent diagnosis for my Hyundai ix35. About 5 weeks ago I started experiencing my car revving up to about 3000rpm without depressing my pedal hard and it also jerk's when the the engine is hot or when on a top speed and I slow down.

I have not changed the ATF since it was not mentioned in the owners manual, the car has clocked 90000km.I took it down to Hyundai office at ijesha for transmission fluid change when I could not lay my hands on the Recommended transmission fluid. The service manager (an Indian) told me the SP iv is not available in the market which make them source for the Abro product that meets the specification( I.e addictive etc) .

After the change of fluid , the revving and jerking is still there and I have changed and cleaned alot of parts; I have cleaned the injector, throttle body, fuel filter , changed my spark plugs etc.

The Hyundai service station at ijesha scan my car and discover that only one sensor of the ABS is weak which I have known for so many years with my scanner.

Please my questions are is this a transmission issue or a sensor issue or fuel pump or injector because the symptoms is somehow related to all this pls

I will be very grateful if suggestion and recommendations could be given please. I would not mind getting the gurus number also. Thanks I. Advance

The hHyundai service station at ijesha also said there is nothing wrong with my gear after the scan as no check engine came on the screen. It's only the ABS I have mentioned earlier that is on the screen. Please help me

Please help with the diagnosis as I would like to take the appropriate steps immediately before I eventually may lose the transmission.

Not having a code does not mean all is well with your transmission. You need diagnosis. But Hyundai and
Iimited PIDs are like 5&6!

What year is your ix35?

@gazzuzz

It's 2010 model

Pls is it transmission problem or injector or what?

I have spent alot and would want to be sure of the diagnosis please.

Hyundai office at ijesha told me their scanner would detect any fault which they did that only one of the ABS sensor is malfunctioning.

Please review and give me a lead as to what to do .

What is PID?

What do you mean by 5&6 you mentioned.

PID = Performance Identifier

5&6 = they are stingy with information. Same goes for Kia! In which part of Lagos are you?

Your issue is likely out of the box though, given the auto revs.
Re: Automatic Gearbox Problems by justfash50: 8:09pm On Aug 07, 2016
Lagos please. Anthony

For Hyundai , you may be right on them not disclosing information because I was forced to demand for the gallon of the litre of ATF used on my car. The service adviser refused until I demand to see the service manager.

Please I need you guys advise urgently on my next course of action. Thanks in advance as you help

pls I need urgent help in the house.
bought honda oddysee 2000 model. I discovered that the gear oil did not gauge and ws black, so I decided to drain it and put a dextron 111 oil into it.barely 3month after that, the gear started withdrawing on motion.As in rev without movement. if placed on drive it drives before it withdraws and after like a minutes or 2 patience, it picks up. The reverse gear works well without any Withdrawer. pls wat can I do? was advised to change the gear bt still like doubting my mechanic. pls wat can I do? I NEED URGENT HELP AND ADVICE

Hello kashif,pls i need your advice.i recently had wrk done on my gear( honda accord 03 Auto).the inside was cleaned including the filter.(I saw the removed debris).The mechanic replaced the fluid with lubcon dextron 11.i got to knw so i parked the park while i await original honda atf DW1.Now,should i *flush* out the lubcon dextron 11 or perform a *simple gear oil change*?pls advice.thanks.

I have a few questions for you:

1. Why did you need a transmission job in the first place?
2. Are you having problems with the DII in there now?
3. When you say "flush out the lubcon dextron II" how do you intend going about that?
Re: Automatic Gearbox Problems by Drphemmy4u: 4:19pm On Aug 15, 2016
@kashif ,thanks for the prompt response sir,i was hearing a strange sound when gear is put in reverse frm drive and car wldnt reverse. during the job,i was shown a rounded metal with several teeth,with some of the teeth worn out.(the mech said the sounds was frm here) (it was removed frm inside the gear box),also,a rounded object with 8-10 burnt round plates was also replaced.(he said its D5,that i shld change it as well).The car drives fine now,no more issues.but i only decided not to drive it because wrong oil was replaced in the gear(lubcon dextron 11). By flush,i meant changing with the required oil twice to mk sure wrong oil doesnt remain inside.or do i just drain,and refill with honda atf DW1 once?thanks once again.

If we switch positions, this what I will do: I will drive it like that!

First, there is no way for you to tell the ATF that was in the transmission before you repaired it, but I can tell you it was not DW1, unless you put it there. It could be any ATF!

It is good to play by the 'rules' but we need to keep an eye on their application. Even if you drain and refill your transmission 5 times, you will not get out ALL the ATF therein. The only way 'out' is with a fluid exchanger, which I am yet to see anywhere around. Just rest assured it is not only the lubcon you have there. You should still have about 4 litres of the old ATF, unless your torque converter and valve body were drained.

Did he work on your valve body? The reason I asked is that clutches don't just burn. If what caused the old one to burn was not addressed, the new one will go the same way. That is the reason transmission jobs dont last in Nigeria!

Have you ordered the DW1 already?

i googled what valve body looks like,he didnt work on anything like that.he changed the parts in the pictures below.the one with worn out teeth,and the other one had those rectangular structures on the surface flat.no friction.He didnt open the valve body and torque converter.Through out the wrk all i was seeing is the 3rd picture below.i am yet to order the atf .thank you.

Sure that worn ring gear came from your transmission? I am not able to ID it.

Well, hard parts like that one don't care if you use crude oil, as long as they get lubricated. If you had many burnt frictions (that is what they usually change(your pic labelled the frictions and disc inversely)), a VB check is advised. Also, whenever such jobs are undertaken, it is advised to install a new filter.

Enjoy!
