Well there are quite some changes in 8.1, like ability to block unwanted call, background photo can be added on your home screen, you can also compressed data using data sense and also u can lock ur screen to one position and many more.

Tucan reader will do the trick.
Yes there are apps to view almost any format.

Tucan reader has outclassed every eBook app I have compared it to. Even including Android reading apps, and it's free...
It's not compatible with a few formats anyways, but you will get other apps for those.
I don't have any troubles though since I deal mostly with epub format.

The Lumia 530 is crap though. All sensors have been removed, even the brightness sensor has been removed too.
The camera is fixed focus.
4gb of internal storage.( I have 8gb of storage on my 520, yet, I had only 2gb+ free after cyan update).
Poorer video recording, as it can't shoot 720p videos.

It has some few positives though, e.g it's faster.
I wouldn't advise anyone to get it though.
