Kamanda:

Is everybody in that state a Re tarrd

the good thing is that the Governor has responded by trying to address it.

It is a general problem in this country.
Once the personnel cost is more than 30 percent in your state,
Then you are in this category.

mens dept: SO why can't DICKSON suggest to merge his state back with Rivers and then possibly back with the former East to create the obviously economically viable Eastern Region, since he and his people have publicly said they cant, do not know, nor have the will to govern effectively under the current framework of Nigeria?

You mean a proud Governor that sees Amaechi as a foe instead of a brother? Do you know Rivers State has Songhai 20 times bigger than the one at Cotonu, Dickson also trying to model what he has seen in Rivers, instead going to the state Governor for assistant decide to send 200 novice (politicians) instead of professionals to Benin Rep for training with the aim establishing same at Bayelsa, but the errand men went there for jamboree. They ended up not achieving anything. The farm establishment in Bayelsa is now a mirage.
Another one, when he Dickson came on board as a Governor, he said, he will copy the model primary schools and Health centres in Rivers and Akwa Ibom road networks as a case study, but what has this man done now? Award 2 flyovers. He forgot to complete his predecessors project. That 5-star hotel building in Yenegoa is still lieing uncompleted. He is yet to continue any left over projects from his predecessors. He forgot that Ibom International airport, Le Meridian Hotel, Tropicana and some Federal roads in Akwa Ibom were all conceived by Victor Attah before Akpabio completed them with only Le Meridian Hotel completed anyway. Why am i digressing? Is to show you how pumpos this Dickson is. He wants to create a new Bayelsa without sourcing for the existing plan of the state.

That is to tell you how brainless some of these Governors are.... The same governor is appointing an 18 years old Mrs Nigeria as Special Adviser and still he is here complaining of wages.

If the aboved replies are the quality of reponses from the nigerians over the complaints of overbloated re-occurrent expenditure of the bayelsa state, then something must wrong with this country. the future of this country considering the quality of oreintation and intellectual framework of the avearge youth is bleak. You need to critically appraise or assess a report before you make an informed response devoid of sentiment and functional fixation. Frm these responses above, i can simply sense most of the contributors to the issue at hand lacks intellectual depth and have an unhealthy functional fixation for the bayelsa people. Most of the states are sufferring from similar problems where you have re-occurrent expenditure to be far above capital expenditure. bayelsa today is much of a civil servant state and there is a need for the government to put infrastructure in place to support inflow of foreign investment. The agricultural sectors need to be revatilised to engage army of unemployed youth. How many of the youth of the bayelsa state are given jobs by the oil and ga sector. A situation where the middle level and top level manpower is recruited from one state and taken to their operation company in bayelsa state is unacceptable and it must stop. There are professional, graduates and technocrats among the pple. Make no mistake. The state need a heavy federal government presence as it is done in abuja and lagos. The state deserves coastal rail transport, long bridges and seaport as superstructure to support economic growth and development. Skills aquisition, trade education should be made relevant to the youth, which are the state's hope for a better and brighter tomorrow. Under the leadership of dickson, the future of an average bayelsan is bright and glorious.

Now I can proudly and boldly say that the main problem of Nigeria is credible leaders/leadership. Funny enough, some followers are even defending the cause of cluelessness and unjustness of the governor of Bayelsa, who is suppossed to be undergoing serious challenges from the HoA with about 163 special adviser nonsense up there. What remains again in the coffer of such state with such an enormous political appointments?

Lots of hippos, mamy watas, manatees, lobsters, shrimps, crabs, crocs, and many other aquatic residents, are under the pay role of the government!

Dickhead complaining of paucity of funds yet appoints a stark novice as special advicer simply because he wants to get under her undies without necesarily paying for such pleasure from his pocket!

With this caliber of leaders, the SS is sure as hell doomed!
why put SS as a whole? Rivers, Cross river, Delta and Akwa Ibom are already better than a lot of states in South west or North will ever be.

Liked. Your list of Bayelsan 'advisers' captures a part of the problem. I can imagine how much waste goes into bellies of those parasites. As I, and others more eminent than me have said, decentralize the current system by giving states autonomy with a fairly strong centre (which gets revenue by tax) which oversees the common needs of the nation eg defense, research and international commitments etc.
