31 migrants are said to have drowned off the coast of Libya, while attempting to cross into Italy on Friday.
Nigerian migrants were also among those who died, Italian media reported.
Also nine women were believed to be part of those who sank.

According to survivors report, the ship was carrying 53 migrants from Nigeria, Gambia, Benin and Senegal and they had endured three days on sea before it capsized on Friday evening, and witnesses said 31 of those who had been thrown off it drowned in the accident.

The twenty-two survivors, were rescued by a passing merchant ship and taken to Lampedusa Island, the reports said.

According to News reports, more than 200,000 people have arrived on Lampedusa. Rescuers were said to have saved another 450 people trying to reach Italy on Friday andSaturday with another 92 migrants including 16 women rescued Sunday morning in the Strait of Sicily after their boat got into difficulty.
