Submitted on July 7th; unknown Nairaland handle No 1 ............ Life or Death.............. Steepy hills, rigmarolic pathways. A rude defiance to the veteran wayfarer. A mystery to the Sages. Who have taken wisdom like the pinch of salt. With no agony, sigh or throatedness of groan. I see wide terrains dive into the yellow horizon. A smile of pride surrounds my lips. I chew my frailty and my fears. I stabbed my worst fears at his back. I see not blood. I hear no moan. I see no result. I saw death mocking me in a sarcastic baritone. What is life? Is it not death itself? For why you think you are alive. You answer questions made exclusive to the citizens of the Grave. The worst pains seep in through the noble pores of your skin. Like the black earth shrouds the so called death. Where light is dark. And laughter is ululation. So tell me,when is man truly alive or dead? 3 Likes |

Submitted on July 15th; unknown Nairaland handle No 2 Treasures Of Beauty And Character Seven seasons had gone by, gone with her night dreams, Wishes of a single mother in fight for success not ice creams, Men have come for shelter, many have come to pet her, A woman so resolute, giving in to no man’s offer. On a lonely journey she had set upon seven seasons ago, son to care for, men to run from; not even their ego, Busy and choosy, waiting for her prince to emerge, God of the sky has a place for her to find him even at large. He who shall find you a princess has found a treasure, God has blessed the face that shall kiss the lips for sure, The soft skin and wet body of a beautiful lady all abundant, They lay fallow for seven seasons and blessed is he that shall plant. Who can find a woman so resolute even in pain and suffering? Faced with a word living so fast on shamelessness and fake offering, A son to make into a man and herself to hide from vanity and lust, Seven seasons without handle makes the breasts want to burst. Self control, prayers to Christ in God- her watch word, Not a man, not a woman can change her faith and not in this world, Blessed is the day you were born o’ beautiful woman of virtue, Honoured is he who shall make you feel like a woman when in romantic adventure, Beautiful eyes, kissable lips all made into a colourful skin. What else can a prince desire in a princess for his wonder land I’m asking? Blessed are you O’lady of beauty waiting and praying, Let your tears bring smiles, for you have found your prince charming. You have been denied of a romantic touch and sexual healing for seven seasons, Rejoice O’lady of beauty, your heart desire has been granted for good reasons. 2 Likes |

Submitted on July 24th; unknown Nairaland handle No 4 Moment Of Love The moment comes when you dream for love, The moment when the present calls the future to fulfilment; The moment when the future draws nearer. The moment when love seeks companion, The moment when you are ready to love; The moment when life calls for love. The moment when someone out there seeks your love, The moment when someone awaits your appearance; The moment when someone designed for you calls for your love. The moment when you believe to find your missing rib, The moment when you wait and feel love ahead; The moment when you find that missing part of you that makes you complete. .............Beware..........., many will come in disguise to love; .............But...................., be not deceived by multitude of flatteries; wait for the moment of love. The moment when past is revealed before relationship, The moment when nothing is hidden in a relationship; The moment when you still love each other despite past lives; With the knowledge that life is surrounded by past adventures. Trust in the moment of love, Hope in the call of the future; and Believe in the one destined for you. Someone who will never wish to see you in tears, or bear to see you travail in pains and sorrow. Someone who will understand every path you tread. Someone you know not but believe is out there waiting for you; and longing for your love. Someone who awaits you just as you await him/her, Each step taken brings that someone closer to you. Someone who believes in integrity and honour of the body, not defilement of the body before marriage. Someone who believes in relationship to marriage, someone who believes in the law of marriage, ......the law which states that..... Marriage is honourable in all, above all in a bed undefiled. Someone who seeks to live for love to marriage, when the appointed time comes; Someone who believe that destiny will bring you both together, when ready to meet each other. Someone you believe can feel your heartbeat as you can feel their's. Someone whose part of, you are and your part they are. Someone who comes to take away the pains and memories of wrong relationships and past lives. Someone whose heart seeks to build your's, Someone whose character and charisma seeks your integrity and dignity. ....Before the moment of love.... Strive to make full proof of life ambitions, Seek self asset not self liability; Determine to accomplish your vision for life's mission with passion. Then seek the moment of love and relationship. Let character and charisma build your honour and dignity. Believe in the moment of love that moment of fulfilment. The moment when you are sort after for your virtuous character. 7 Likes |

No. 5 CRY ME A RIVER Cry me a river, Wail like Oliver, On your knees do beg for more. It would be better this time for sure, So she says, And weeping, on the floor she stays, Begging for one more chance, To correct her mistakes in our dance. Cry me a river, And act like a diva. Speak to my heart that has closed its gate, And do pretend that it's not too late. Narrate the lovely times we never had, And don't remember ever making me sad. Caress lovingly my heart you crushed... Seek to satisfy my plea you hushed. Cry me a river, Please add a shiver. Tell me how I mean the world to you... How you affection for me has remained true. She says she cannot live without me, That the spark in my eyes she longs to see. Same eyes she stared out in the cold, When she left me with pains untold. Cry me a river, Do feign a fever, Tell me how regret fill your heart, How you wish we never did part. Put the blame on imperfection, For its tongue can raise no objection, Or still yet, on nature, And paint yourself a harmless creature. Cry me a river, And work like a beaver. She says she'd never rest, Until she gets back her very best, That she'd do anything to open that door, And pick my heart's pieces from the floor. That she'd do anything to erase Memories of the dark painful days. Cry me a river She's turned a believer! Now she remembers God is love, And that the quality comes from above, She says forgiveness is divine... That she'd forever cherish mine. Don't forget to cry out your eyes... I might just be moved to believe your lies. 18 Likes |

No 6. On God And Evil Why talk about evil, and ignore all good, As basis all evil, proves God isn't there, The suffering of man, shows God doesn't care, The triumphs of man, despite fangs Nature bare Why talk of good, like sex like music, Then think it evil, like rape bad music, We play the judge, of things we see, And of all matter, we let it be, Why talk of God, given evil isn't real, Yet of wicked men, in history their seal, Of a certain doom, we allow Nature's gloom, For wicked men unlucky, lock in a room What is in man, seeing good and evil, No mass in either, yet in much matter, Some say He nurtures, to some He tortures, For in all humans, good bad find juncture C'est finis, Uyi Iredia. Context: To lay bare the argument against God from evil. I would love to say more but wouldn't save this. Read Prov 18:17, therein lies my thoughts while writing this poem. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. No 9 War of the Dead. In bygone times and warmer climes You marionettes played Now, restless and silent in a box Your scattered limbs are splayed Come, feel the tug of dancing strings Your soul responds on shivering wings The master puppeteer now sings Rise from where you are laid The master calls you from the dark Your bones respond in haste Come, act the part of living souls Their glory once more taste Connect again with warmer days Hearken to your former ways Out of that darkness, you will rise From your place of waste! Now dance you spirits gone before The surging blood of old You sundered souls from times of yore Play at a life once bold The master heaves on strings of woe Torn from the dark, your bones must go To act once more that all may know The master's tale is told This war is only for the bold It is time for the war of the dead. Subject; my imagination of a troubled time, when d dead are sent by a powerful dark force to wage war against the living. Pardon my dark/sinister imagination. 4 Likes |

Number 13 WHAT IS LIFE? To the rich; it is an avalanche of merriment. Of a big barn, a large cellar, massive chariots, a large safe and a big harem. To the newly wed; it’s a century of bliss in each others` arms and enthusiasm for tomorrow and all that it holds. But to the sick, its` a festival of bad health. Of aching backs and excruciating pains. Of hopelessness, and of the desire for euthanasia. To the heart-broken its` a season of torment, of oblivious whirling of the winds of time. Of endless hope against hope of her lovers` return. And a burning desire to taste of Socrates` hemlock. And to the debtor it is a morbid fear of tomorrow; Cowed by every footstep or shadow at his doorstep, lest it be that of his creditor. To the labourer toiling day and night in anticipation of harvest, it is a hard smile at the thought of payday as he gropes in the pains of his sweat. To the poor, its` the lowest ebb of dignity, a life sentence of penury, and decade scores of indigence, hunger and bad taste. To the dead, its` a permanent and happy rest from the long and torturous walk on the bye-ways and highways of life. And from the perpetual tossing by the see-saw of life. But to Mother Nature, it’s a wonderful rendition of Gods` artistry and invincibility. And an eternal exhibition of his superior craftsmanship. And what is life to me? Hmm...what is life to me? What is life to me? For me it’s` a canvas with which to make the most of a borrowed entity. And afterwards return it to the supreme creditor. 9 Likes |

NUMBER 15 BEEN BITTEN BITTER Like an abrasion You came And left and us with confusion, Puzzle to great men you made Who claim to war ailment, Thus to their detriment. Man you maimed Woman you cot-laid, When they were so naive Oh, there you were so active. The young lad is worrying Is this a victory song from a warrior? Listen again..., just a clarion call, In this time of fall. You came HIV, With the whip And made man weep. Man saw thee But couldn't conquer thee. Beard brothers you made silent Struggling with cures per resilient. And what great news Do you produce? Lives you have stolen Wives you have beaten Husbands you have eaten Children you have stricken; All to their timely torture, You brag. But I laugh, All to their untimely torture I say. Oh! Shall this great god Or daredevil Vacate to the bin? Or shall this be, Of all infinity the beginning of our end? Only time and tide will tell. But for the now, We so know, That we have been bitten bitter. 10 Likes |

Our love is true Our love is like scientific proof..a fact Unbelievable, yet we live it And the day you shall break my heart: Love will curse Hate shall bless Fire will melt And ice shall burn And the moon, burn with fury Jupiter and Mercury shall collide And mars will disappear Justice abandoned For hell hath no fury in the face of a broken heart seeking to quell its anguish The heavens will shed rain tears and scream in agony with thunder claps The wind shall sing its pain And the stars will twinkle no more Even as I think of it happening The earth trembles with fearful pain And dark clouds overshadow the sun.. ..And when all these pass, the soul of auchindoun shall burn and his essence, dry up for the substance that greased his soul and spirit will be no more... NUMBER 17 THE OLD BOOK The old book lies on top of the bookshelf, So many secrets it holds left for dead, Countless people walk in and out every day So many give it half a glance and then stray Pick me up! Please pick me up! I'm covered by dust and rot My hinges with rust and worms, Someone put me in your arms, read me That’s what I was made for, that’s where I belong Maybe that gentleman or that girl, Will give into curiosity and free me from this hell Maybe her, maybe him, maybe tomorrow Maybe next week, maybe in a month Maybe never at all, maybe never at all. 5 Likes |

Number 18 FATHER-LESS Shame on You, Father, Your gray hairs, your wrinkled face; I hope your end is near and be damned along with your dying race; I wished you never existed, bred nor grew, And I'm sorry I followed a cause– the one you never knew. Shame on you! With these blood sweats I will fight your kinds: Oh! Injured dreams and bleeding nightmares, rise up you children - the defeated minds; Let your soul be one; - bonded and forged in God's abdomen; And united like broomstick – tamed like conformed men and women. Shame on you, Father! This victorious sword – pierced cold-hearted rocks, Prepare to fall to me on the sacred alter of war, death! – hope you heard the hard knocks? Silence! You poverty strickened beast, Your doom ends here in the east! Tim Paker ousting out corruption and its vices 7 Likes |

NUMBER 22 <<<Olympics of Life>>> People say Olympics is not to win But to participate Burning dreams of a decades of years Brought to be tested on the pitch Like a raw gold in the fury of the Smith's flare Left and right are our thousands spectators A cacophony of cheers and boos Indinstinguishable from the other Just for this mystic medal do I deafen my ears to the mockery I hear For to reach the finishing line, proud Is not as hard as realising the vanity of man's aspiration We travel several leagues from our continent To manifest our innate gifts on this strange pitch Garnering these shiny metals The enthusianism of our muscles Impel us to make our Fatherland proud Ready to yield the investments on us The daily milk diet And the flattering words that leak from the corners of the coach's mouths. I shall deliver the dead blow When with a large pace I win this race Ovation or shame shall greet my exit From this strange pitch When my clan covers my skin with the soil A signal of my exit from this strange land But I do not wish to go back Even if my people want me back. After four years. 5 Likes |
