Lagos,Anambra Faceoff- Presidency Urged To Intervene by Nobody: 9:00pm On Aug 02, 2013
A PDP Chieftain, Dr Segun Ogundimu, has appealed to the
Presidency to intervene in the dispute between Lagos and
Anambra over the return of over 70 alleged miscreants to
Anambra.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Lagos State on
July 24 sent over 70 alleged miscreants to their states of origin.
The said miscreants were dropped at Upper Iweka in Onitsha,
Anambra.
Ogundimu, a former Lagos State Commissioner for Health, told
reporters on Friday in Lagos that the Presidency should
investigate the issue.
"It will amount to complicity if this issue is not thoroughly
investigated.
"And if the situation is not urgently and carefully handled, it
could be detrimental to the country's democracy.
"It will not be out of place if the Judiciary, specifically the
Attorney General of the Federation is directed to investigate the
situation," Ogundimu said.
Similarly, the Lagos Chapter of the Conference of Nigerian
Political Parties (CNPP) urged Governor Peter Obi of Anambra to
be calm and allow the Presidency to resolve the issue.
In a statement by Hon Akinola Obadia, the chapter chairman,
CNPP said the issue must not be allowed to cause disaffection.
"We in the CNPP have gone extra mile to find out the fact from
the Lagos State Government," the statement said.
It appealed against tribalising the issue, which would be resolve
soon.

Sometime last year, the state of New Mexico began to clamp down on illegal aliens mostly Mexicans in their state. The Obama administration had to put a stop to all of it citing a major constitutional breach by the state of new mexico. The Feds also cited arrests based on racial profiling and criminalization of being an alien. The fed made an argument that only the federal government through the immigration dept has the sole authority to arrest and deport illegal aliens.

What exactly is the dumb king of Aso Rock going to do?

This Obi man is equally dumb and incompetent for real. Why not engage Lagos state directly instead of crying to another incompetent loser who really has no power, no credibility or jurisdiction to do anything about this issue?

What do we have courts for?

If this is true; if the PRESIDENT is any of what you just wrote, what has your 'infinitely intelligent' father achieved with his many 'talents'? What has he done with his life so far?? Who is he? And how has his 'very successful' life imparted yr present miserable life?

GEJ can't do anything abi?
Don't worry.
By the time GEJ unleashes the army on lagos in the name of SOE,just like he did during the subsidy protest, una eye go clear.
Fortunately, the chaos which fashola is creating will be the only excuse he need.

This issue is getting more delirious and been blown out of proportion by the day
Was Anambra State not informed before hand from correspondences between then and LASG
Were other states from the North and West recipients of those relocated?
While Fashola and by extension the LASG should have handled this issue more circumspectly, why are the Ibos crying more than the bereavedundecided
Why are they making this appear as a targeted action at ONLY Ibos
Apart from Lagos (and if I recall well Kano) NO OTHER state in Nigeria has people from other tribes as serving commissioners (PLEASE CORRECT ME IF I'M WRONG)
How come Ngige had the common sense to directly hear from Fashola on this matter but Obi lacks the sense of a goose in this matterundecided
Why take to newspapers to project the victims stories without hearing from the LASG officially?
Whatever happened to hearing both sides of an issue before passing judgementundecided
Truly as Fashola said, this outburst is not because of those dropped off at Anambra, rather it is about political ammunition for the coming state gubernatorial elections cool

Igbos are really acting ridiculous with this one.

Anyone with sense knows that the deportation of lunatics and beggars has been going on for a long time, and that it has nothing to do with tribe. Still these fools attack the only performing governor with tribalist politics.

Igbos are their own worst enemies. You don't think the Yoruba see the way you are acting?
