ckkris: Feeding which country? Luggard & co kept records showing they used Southern revenue to subsidise the north, which has continued to date. Na Zik just wan carry his Africanism help fellow Arab-minded black Africans. If Nigeria first discovered oil in 1956 and started production in 1959, how did the South's revenue subsidze the North?! Where did this southern revenue come from?! 2 Likes |

Borrowing again?? Has our oil dried up? What happened to our other resources? The global economy is still not strong and we are still borrowing. Precedence has also shown what these money are used for. Smh 1 Like |

When are we going to get this rigt in this country? Even countries like Botswana, Namibia etc have working systems except Nigeria. Nothing work in our country. Since the inception of democracy in 1999, there have been efforts by successful government to salvage the power situation in the country. Alot of money have been invested into the project. As we speak nothing to show for it. The situation of the light has not improve in any part of the country. Now is to go and borrow $450m from an Islamic bank. Well, our hope is that nemesis will soon catch up with who so ever is misleading us. 1 Like |

lacasa: I get miffed when we don't act rationally just because we have recalcitrantly a taken position to support someone even if what he is doing is wrong...that was what made me sound out that part to the ethno-religious bigots amongst us Getting a loan from an Islamic bank(as such loans tends to be very friendly unlike d ones taken from China/IMF/ the Bretton Woods institutions with a lot of loopholes n Technical proviso) is not a bad idea because no nation has all the monies it needs at any particular point in time we can always hedge our future crude oil sales and proceeds to service n pay the loans gradually BUT our history with such loans with absolutely near nothing to show for them under this party is very real issues Just like some people averred,GEJ is currently preparing to spend us blind towards the realisation of his 2nd term by drawing down on the foreign reserve just like he did in 2011 while using loans like this to cover up d infrastructural deficiency and budget deficit we are presently witnessing but the most heart rendering stuff is that about 50% of the loan will get diverted...making us to borrow more 1 Like |

Mr Aboki: O Level Economics. Sales Tax is still far higher in the South than in the North. Sales Tax from companies that that sell consumer goods, such as Petrol, electricity, gsm, you add the rest of them. Please what commercial item does the north consume up to 30% of national estimate, still they get huge Allocations from Revenues derived from haram Alcohol. Haba! You see why Unity Schools admit Aboki that score 2 out of 400? Just keep shining shoes. Or better still, visit Ezego at Ubahu. |

This man should not create a new debt burden on this country. We barely escape d the last debt. Nigeria should simply recover the over one trillion naira loot from the subsidy thieves who walk freely. |

Beggar nation. we beg from everyone and everything, shamelessly. from god to man, we refuse to get to work and help ourselves, utilizing what we have for growth. we'd rather find a god to beg, or a nation to beg for help. shame! now we'd be indebted to the world, and will become their puppets cos of the huge debts we owe |

This government is only innovative in borrowing, mismanagement of funds and masquerading their gross ineptitude with caricature projects. No fiscal discipline, no accountability. Another Greek experience in the offing.... It was said that the VP went on Lesser Hajj. It was said that him and his team prayed for Nigeria while at Hajj. Now, they are meeting the IDB for loan while performing the rites. While it is not abhorred to do all these, it should be noted that this does not guarantee success. What will bring positive change to our life as a Nation is changing our corrupt and deceptive mentality and exhort virtues in all fabrics of our existence. God will not change the fortunes of a people for better unless they change that which the habour in their hearts. 1 Like |

Ada Nri1: This govt. has collected too much loan already. Why don't they wait and see the projects from the chinese loan through. This just doesn't sound right. Too much loanNo. Not at all. This Government has opportunity to establish previously NEGLECTED INFRASTRUCTURES -Railroads, electric power, and more. If they can borrow as much as they can, and actually set up these Infrastructures, the investments can amortize themselves, GENERATE EMPLOYMENTS, & CREATE WEALTH. There are are few examples in Nigeria,if you can recognize how Jim Nwobodo built a 5-star hotel. Ngozi is too much e. |

A very retardent and clueless idea. An attempt to take Nigeria 30 years backward by people who do not even read history! Sad and same time strange thinking. Why not take the loan from one of the ministers with bloated finances, or from one of those former leaders who have said that they were so rich they do not know what to do with the riches? About time some leaders are recalled! 1 Like |

I thought we took loan from China recently. From US to UK to World bank, to China and now to saudi. Hope this is not another strategy of selling the whole nation to the Arab world which will at the end turns our nation to a sharia country? But wait, despiste so many loans, yet not too much progress to show.... |
