In terms of aircraft technology Russia is still behind. The west introduced the B-2 spirit bomber, F-117 strike aircraft, F-22 and now the F-35 while the east grapples with its projects. The T-50 is still a promise.

Stealth coupled with tactics like NOE and EW systems can be a game changer, it isn't a giant leap though like jet engines.

We do. Combat support is a very broad term. In the DRC a Oryx flew with a Forward air control on board who was guiding a pare of rooivalks on there attack runs.

In line with military tradition adopted a while ago (an officer from one of the three services takes charge on rotational basis ), the president said he was not going to interfere with it, The CDF of Kenya has reached retirement, he was from the Airfoce, with the previous being from the Army, the new CDF was appointed yesterday , from the Navy.

Certain and in small numbers of western tanks have had ATGMs. Of the current western style MBT I believe the merkeva is there only 3rd gen tank that carries ATGMs. Really only upgraded T72s. The T90 was all most just labelled as another T72 upgrade. The T80s are being replaced for easier to maintain T72s and T90s. The T14 will be there first new tank since the 1980s.

Russia all do as great SAM's. Probably makeing up for the fact the west massively out classes there air force in quality and quantity.

F-35 has a better and more complex system which does the exact same thing.

People are overplaying the stealth characteristic of the F-35. Its not the primary design consideration of the platform. Especially with regards to air-to-air combat.

The F-35's stealthyness comes into play for ground strikes, not air-to-air.

Because the West does not place the same doctrinal focus on MRLS systems.

Russians use them to saturate the enemy with munitions, where-as NATO uses the airforce to do that.

Hence why the West is developing CRAM to protect strategic location.

Stealthy fighters are 100% invisible but offer certain capabilities other jet can't. Problem is the cost, you know "is it worth It?"

My point was that upgrades like the capability to launch missiles don't make Russian tanks better than the west, the Leopard 2 is still the best.

Russia a lot of SAMs behind its long range systems like the S-400. The Us on the other hand has a few systems behind THAAD and Patriot systems.

There seems to be a shift from area suppression or saturation to precision targeting with GLONASS or GPS guided rockets though.

CRAM systems are still short(guns) to medium(missiles) range only able defend a city or so. Inner layer defence.

To counter threat long range threats like the Smerch, Iskander, Scarab etc they rely on the long range systems like the THAAD, Patriot and soon MEADS.

You know, Kenya has suffered a great deal due to tribalism (in 2007 Kenya almost went into civil war bcoz of tribalism). The 2010 new constitution created alot of checks and balances to every government institution so that no individual has unchallenged powers without oversite. For the DoD,The Defence Council is the one that recommends the the appointment of a new CDF and service commanders based on merit, after being forwarded to the president, the president can then appoint of reject the recommended person.

For the police and other major institutions (judiciary,governor of Central bank, artony general, chief of intelligence service) its even more strict, the president recommends a number of names to parliament, parliament then vets these ppl (through public televised interviews, but some sensitive question are sometimes anwered in private) then forwads there choice to the president, if parliament rejects all the names, the president has to choose others again....

for the Police chief:

......Thereafter, the panel will shortlist for interview and select three names to be forwarded to the President.
The President shall, within 14 days of receipt of the names of successful applicants, nominate and forward to Parliament the name of one person appointment.
Parliament shall within 14 days after receiving names of the nominee approve or reject the nominee.
If the Parliament approves the nominee, the President shall, within seven days, appoint the nominee as the Inspector General........

The Force is also not trained by Danes. The Force takes a plethora of techniques from the many different Services it trains with/ trained by, not restricted to Brits or Americans.

Sheer Ignorance from the reporter doesn't equal fact.
