"Namibian company Windhoeker Maschinenfabrik (WMF) is busy developing a 6x6 armoured recovery vehicle and an 8x8 armoured vehicle and has put its new Mk III armoured personnel carrier into production.

Magarete van Niekerk, the Sales and Marketing representative for Windhoeker Maschinenfabrik, told defenceWeb that the Mk II vehicle underwent testing last year, including blast tests that involved a 14 kg explosive detonating under the rear of the vehicle, 14 kg under the driver and 21 kg under the body."

I know wiki says we operate BTR's and i know in 1990 SWAPO 'donated' BTR's to the Government but i doubt if we use them i've been paying 'attention' to our military for a while now and i haven't seen evidence of one in service, I'm still waiting for the day i see a Namibian BTR, T-34 and T-54/55 tanks as listed by wiki ...The defence web article says that a new light armoured vehicle is the cards,cant wait to see the results

Actually read on Defenceweb that Namibia still operated a few BTRs, although im not sure how long ago that list was last updated, but it would be great to see some MK11 and Mk111 in the Namibian Army inventory, hell maybe we even see the 6X6 variant in an IFV platform!

Yeah also read the article either way as it turns out those BTR's and other relics are in storage it seems,Uhm the MK11 is already in service its been for over a atleast decade, its the mk111 we are waiting for

Some MK11's are fitted with 2A28 Grom 73mm guns now
