TECHNOLOGY
1. The Nigerian military has developed a very sophisticated battlefield survellance technology. An airship that can reach altitude of 84km i.e, 49km higher than the american blackbird and 24km higher than the highest altitude record for airship/balloon flight. at that altitude it is far from the reach of anti aircraft artillery surface to air missile systems and fighter jets, and near enough to use downward facing radar(airbourne and ground moving target indicator) to detect aircrafts, missiles, and ships. It also has the potential to take battlefield images, intercept enemy signals and together with other airships provide cordinates for friendly forces to navigate. It is important to note that what is unique to nigeria about this technology is not the idea of filling containers with lighter than air gas, but the craft of combining the materials with the right weight, in the right comformation, with the right gas to provide enough lift for the devices needed to carry its functions.
2. Satelite technology: over the last couple of years, nigeria has trained engineers who indepently built nigeriasat-x, which as bieng functioning well ever since and have being put to use by the nigerian military

Anybody that knows how to use the internet, knows about that island by now. Then why not just boost the morale of the local populace.

SPECIAL OPERATIONS CAPABILITY
The Nigerian military has well versed and well trained special forces. The army 72 Batalion was trained in 2009 by isreali instructors on special warfare and since then have being regularly training with the Pakistani ssg and other elite units from other countries. They have experience fighting in northeast Nigeria, mali----they have being in mali months before the publicised deployment of troops. and there are reported to have being involved in ivory coast. The army has since created more special warfare units to include:
1. 101 batalion: dedicated counter terrorist/direct action unit.
2. 176 batalion.
3. Desert force1: desert warfare specialists.
4. I don't know the designation of this batalion, but it was trained by navy in scuba diving and other aspects of littoral warfare
The 72batalion itself, is specialised in halo parachute jumps.
The navy also has an over 100man special boat service unit who are also as capable as theIr army counterparts.

The reason we know so much about the militaries of other countries is because the populace and media of that country has being enquiring enough. The reason we know so much of us military is because of hollywood, cnn, timemagazine etc

Its sited at Epe in lagos state.

You forgot the nigerian airforce quick response squadron.(QRS) that are also a special forces unit.

In other words,american stealth planes like the F-177A, and B-2 spirit bomber can be detected when they enter the Nigerian air-space.
