The motive might to get publicity but surely the course of his life has changed for the better.Should we demand,he be sentenced and become a harden criminal or given proper education and become a better citizen in future?

this is nonsense. a boy that should have been given 24 lashes is here being given a scholarship. what a wrong signal to other boys. that boy could have been dead without trace, and the parents might have accuse one innocent neighbour. Those behind the scholarship are boko (rauf) and simply idiots

The case of the stowaway, we should see as an act of God meant to alert us about the level of insecurity in the aviation sector. Imagine if the poor boy was a suicide bomber. Of course, it would have been a job perfectly executed. Let our government stop playing politics with our lives and be alive to their responsibilities. Let's look at the issue in a more comprehensive manner. The issue of insecurity in the country seems unending despite the huge resources supposedly committed to it by the government. Don't forget, the issue concerns all of us, but the ruling class seems to be most concerned; not because they care about the poor Nigerians, but because they have so much money stolen from the government treasury and they are desperate to tackle whatever would prevent them from enjoying their loots. If you doubt me, what about ASUU strike? Does it mean anything to them? No! Because their children are not attending any of the tertiary institutions in Nigeria. It is important for us to cry aloud now more than ever. The government should address the issue of education which the lack is one of the ingredients of insecurity in the country. To this extent, the recent case of the stowaway caught in Arik plane should be treated with every seriousness it deserves even if they feel they can turn deaf ears to the ASUU strike, so as to save the country from potential avoidable air disasters. In conclusion, let the government pay more attention to education of the Nigerian children so as not to continue breeding criminals from those who are supposed to be leaders of tomorrow. This again brings us to what ASUU strike stands for in the education sector. Nevertheless, the Federal government should eware! ASUU strike is a gunpowder. If it explodes, none of them in the government circle would survive it.

Why politicize this

I think its good that the boy is being given this opportunity. Who knows what he may come up with later if he's left just like that.

Maybe shekau was once like this young boy.. You can't tell.

Thanks for this post. After this incident, I believe we should be more concerned and cry out loud the about low level of security at the airports than worry ourselves over the boy's scholarship.

Truth of the matter is 'd boy courageous and smart', for him to av beaten the airline security and find his way into the tire compartment of the plane, without them noticing this till he got to Lagos, then I think such a boy is meant to be in d NDA. Altho what the boy did is totally wrong and shld be chastised for it I still think if gov Rauf wants to sponsor him or any other person is trying to offer him scholarship, its better than for the terrorist to offer him money to blow up d plane.

BeraBera:

Lauding the move by the gro'up has nothing to do with being an APC goon. Moreover, what were you expecting that would happen to the boy? We're you expecting his "reward" to be the prison? The boy is only 15 for crying out loud! What he needs now is to be reprimanded for the "bad behaviour" (which I'm sure he must have received already while in detention) , and afterwards given good education that would help him achieve his dreams of traveling abroad legitimately.
So, "travelling abroad" is the only dream worth encouraging. Our level of confusion is amazing.

Yea its a 'bad behavior' but personally I see greatness, courage and determination to succeed in that young man,he should be given the chance to perfect in the field he deems necessary.
