The lawmakers asked the governor to return to the U.S to continue his rehabilitation programme and only come back to run his office when he is fully fit...

Tsokwa who addressed journalists in Jalingo said the decision of the members followed their visit to Mr Suntai last night and that lawmakers were convinced Mr. Suntai was unfit to return to office....He directed the deputy governor to continue as acting governor.

Good idea. Obviously, Suntai is not fit to govern just yet.
The fear of impeachment & greed made some cabal rush him down to Nigeria. But the House of Assembly should keep his Government secured in his absence, the crash/accident could have been any of Us.

its not suntai's government.its the government of the people of taraba state.much as I sympathise with his plight,it will be best for taraba state of the acting governor is sworn in as the substantive governor and another deputy governor is sworn in.what if the acting governor falls sick?or needs a vacation?suntai is obviously in need of longterm rehabilitation and with his mandate ending in less than a year,I doubt he'd be fully recovered to take full executive powers.better to do theirhg thing completely.

However,much as I applaud the desire of the taraba house of assembly to do the right thing,I must also implore them to do the right thing by constituting a medical panel to examine the governor.the assembly members cannot unilaterally state that suntai isn't fit to function.their decision can only have a sound footing if it follows due process
