taharqa: I usuali do not hv much patience for peeps that acts as FOOOLS... Forgive me if I can't help myself at times
You can never be taken serious online and in the real world with this attitude.

I still converse with recognized PDP advocates like @Sincere9gerian, @Awodman and ROSSIKE and learn a few things from them despite the facts that we represent opposing sides but with you, its like you're from a far lower rung of the society.

Clean up your conversations and present your points, then you might actually win people over.

I aint perfect myself but i try...... Not revel in it.

Clearly lagos state goverment has failed in carrying the public along in this buy-back business. They need to come out and explain the rationale behind the so called buy back.

They've explained the reasons behind the this action. Maybe they need to spend some money on radio/TV public service announcements to further educate folks regarding this action by the state.

People screamed and kicked against tolling on this road and the only way to solve this problem is to wipe out the concessionaires and their interests and kick back the to the state the whole road and all liabilities. Meaning the state get to decide what people pay or don't pay, Lagosians don't have to worry about rate increase and other charges. This road now fully belongs to the people of Lagos state and we are in total control of this road. This is ours for good. PERIOD.

Sometimes out of ignorance, we kick against our own interests, but at the end of the day, all is good...

Ours is a country of skeptics

The Senator Addul Ningi-led Senate Ad-hoc Committee on Subsidy Re- Investment and Empowerment Programme (SURE-P) has revealed how an initial N42billion earmarked for the Abuja-Lokoja road by the works ministry was jerked up to a whopping N116 billion.
To this end, the Senate SURE-P committee yesterday issued sweeping summons to all contractors involved in the road project to answer queries over the review of the contract sum by over 170 per cent from 2006 till date.
These were fallouts of the ongoing Senate probe into the activities of SURE-P. The committee yesterday grilled the Minister of Works, Mike Onolememen and Managing Director of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA), Engineer Gabriel Amuchi.

According to Onolememen, the contract for the 200 -kilometre Abuja- Lokoja road (one-way) was awarded in 2006 at the sum of N42 billion, but on assumption of office, a committee he met on ground was already working on the complete review of the contract, including the engineering design.
The works minister said the committee’s review of the road project necessitated the upward review of the total sum to N116 billion - a decision he said was backed by the Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP).

The disclosure threw the Senate SURE-P committee into bouts of angry reactions, some tagging the upward review “scandalous”.
“This scandalous decision is unacceptable. How can you defend a review of over 170 percent? What mechanism did you use to arrive at the decision to do the review? This is not acceptable to this committee,” Ningi stated in reaction to the disclosures.
Again, Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa, a member of the committee stated in reaction to the disclosure that by his calculation, the Abuja Lokoja road is being constructed at a cost of N300 million per kilometer.
The works minister said if all monies appropriated to the ministry under the SURE-P is released, the Abuja- Lokoja road will be completed next year.

At the same meeting, the Senate Adhoc committee on SURE-P queried the Managing Director of the Federal Roads Maintenance Agency (FERMA) Engineer Gabriel Amuchi over allocation of N1.3 billion as operational and labour cost out of the N4 billion it got from the SURE-P programme for road maintenance and rehabilitation.
Amuchi had informed the panel that FERMA pays over 6000 youths N18000 per month as “routine laborers”.
Senator Ningi directed the FERMA Managing Director to forward to the committee details of all the beneficiaries of the programme within one week.

Sincere 9gerian: While Tinubu dogs and vultures are attempting to lynch the minister of aviation over N225 million spent on 2 armoured cars, a whopping N25 billion is being siphoned right under their nose by Tinubu-Fashola collabo.
