All Progressives Congress (APC) To Form Alliance With The New PDP by chiefkpokp(m): 5:20pm On Sep 11, 2013
The newly formed All Progressives Congress (APC) has said it may form a strategic alliance with the seven aggrieved Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors in the run up to the 2015 ballot because they are too important to be ignored.

The open invitation by APC was released right after the newly appointed youth leader of the splinter PDP, Comrade Timi Frank, had warned that PDP would lose the 2015 general election should the 'new PDP's' mission to rescue the party fall flat.
Speaking on the phone with Thisday on Tuesday, the APC interim National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Muhammed, said the party would not hesitate to receive the seven PDP governors.
“We will welcome them with open arms and like I said before, we feel that these seven governors are too important to our political dynamics to be ignored,” he stated, adding that APC considers a partnership with the governors as very strategic.
"In fact, some of them have been former federal ministers, permanent secretaries and they are not the kind of people you can ignore," he noted.
United by frustration with 'old PDP'
When asked if the agendas of the two parties of the prospective alliance were synchronized, Muhammed said:
“To the extent that they are not satisfied with the PDP because of the lack of proper organisation by the PDP, it tallies with our own.“They are very vital resources, they are very strategic for us and if we are able to strike a bargain and agree on a position with them, of course it will help the polity, not just APC but the whole of Nigeria.”
In turn, Frank, stated that the leaders of the 'new PDP' were determined to rescue the party and therefor were not yet considering leaving it or joining another party. He reminded that the objective of the 'new' PDP is to take the party back to its glorious days.
It will be reminded, that the new faction chaired by Abubakar Baraje and consisting of seven of the party’s 23 governors, has announced that it has taken over the party on Saturday, August 31. The police then sealed off a pralled secretariat of the split faction opened on September 2.

APC is tending towards a northern party, thanks to the overwhelming influence of CPC and the dogged followership Buhari carries. 90% of the new PDP faction is of Northern extraction too. If they merge with APC, ACN and its yoruba representation will simply fizzle out. As is the usual case with a regional party you'll notice the reluctance of APC to fully connect with the south-south, south-east and the middle belt. PDP is still the true nigerian party, its very obvious. Its a party whr every and anyone can aspire and have a voice. APC must work hard to avoid a total northern dominance or that will signal her obituary!!!!

APC currently has two governors in the SS (Edo) and South East (Imo).

PDP has no governor in the South West.

So how did you arrive at PDP being more national in outlook than APC?

Strategic alliance.
Use the alliance to get to power, and then use those powers of the presidency to completely demolish the platform with which corrupt personalities in the killer party use to perpetuate themselves In Power

Like
1Removing the police ,efcc, from under the control of the federal government
2Making INEC autonomous and unanswerable to no one but the people.
3remove the powers of the federal government to appoint the Chief Justice of the federation.
4 dismantle and privatise NNPC.
5remove the oil block awarding powers of the presidency
Etc

Didn't APC claim they are "progressive" and that PDP is a killer party? Now biko nu, why is a self claimed "progressive" party seeking to align with a "killer party" and "un-progressive people".
That jigawa governor gave APC the right name. A bunch of desperate power hungry politicians.

. PDP had no governor in the south west but the masses voted massively for PDP in the 2011 presidential polls. It was a landslide victory for PDP. You could have the governor and lose the people. We've seen very poor mobilisation in the SS, SE and middlebelt. Moreso you have Buhari and his bullies trying force down every idea that pops in their head down the throats of everyone, case in point- biometric data capturing of members of the APC. CPC members walked out of the meeting after failing to bully others into supporting them. Can you please mention anybody from the SE, SS or middlebelt whose voice could equal that of Buhari or Tinubu in APC
