Had I known! I would have listen to my mother I said with tears raining from my eyes as I sat on the hospital bed,I remember how it all started.

I woke up very early in that morning which was so unlike me, looking at the clock on the wall of my room it was 4:30 am "Oh My God!" "Why this time slow like today na?" I ask no one in particular. this was the third time have waken up to see if its morning but i was disappointed each time. I walk to the Kitchen from my room and open the refrigerator to have a glass of water, the cold air that came out of the dip frezer made me shake like a leave in harmattan, I could not go back to sleep even if i wanted to because it was as if the water i took just help to elude sleep off my eyes.

I walk back to room and sat on my bed. I know u might have been wondering what is making me so anxious and restless, well it was my first day in secondary school, not just any school but Federal Government College Sokoto popularly known as FGC sokoto or fegoland.

I have heard a lot of stories about Federal Unity Colleges i have always dreamt of becoming a student of one i have always had this great admiration for fgc students because whenever they show any quiz or debate competition on t.v. The students of FGC always come out victorious while other schools followed from behind. in fact the appearance of FgC students in any educational competitions always intimidate the students of other schools. And also anytime my i accompany my mum to sokoto central market i always try to have a glimpse of the school from the car when we drove past the school.
So being admitted into fgc sokoto was like a dream come true for me then.

"Abel!" " Abel!" My mother's voice brought me back to reality. "Bake tarshi ba?"( are u still sleeping ) "Na tarshi" i replied her(i am awake already) "you know say today na your first day for school, so you need to ready so that u no go late u hear?" "ok ma." i answered. For the record my mum and i communicate with both Hausa and English as the case might be because i happen to come from the northern part of the county.

I ran with the speed of light to the bath room to take my bath the kind of speed that would intimidate Usan bolt if we meet in Olympic.

In less than 15minute i was already dress in my school wear what some people call compound wear. If u don't know what house wear or compound wear is then i guess u never went to a boarding school or had a relative who did. "Oh boy see fine boy," i said to myself looking at my refection from the mirror on the wall beside my bed, and my new hair cut help to compliment my look, indeed i was ready, ready to have a test of life in Secondary school.............To be continued.

After driving for about 30minutes we arrived at the gate of my new school unlike most Nigeria cities were by there are always traffic congestion on the road thereby causing most drivers more time before getting to there destinations, the road in sokoto is always free of traffic congestion.

The school gate was painted in green and white and at the top of the gate was written Federal Government College sokoto.and on the side of the gate various flowers were planted and it made the environment very beautiful.

We drove to the admin block and after all my belongings were search by a fair short and plump lady, she called a seniour students to take me to my class.

I follow the seniour student to my class on getting to he front of my class the seniour student left me and went to his own class.

I somound enough courage and walk into my class and immediately the whole students stared at me as if they had just seen an allian from another planet.

I saw an empty seat at the back of the class and i walk to seat down on it but the eyes of the student escorted me to my seat was so uncomfortable that i nearly missed my step.

I bow my head on my desk and said a little prayer when i heard ''Good morning ma! I raised my head up only to behold a fair gorgeous lady standing in front of the class, Her tight jean trousers brought out her figure eight shape. She had tha kind of hips that would make Omotola and Mercy Johnson jealous.

Good morning class. I am miss fiaona, from cross river state and am going to be your new social studies teacher.

I believe as time goes on i will get to know you all bla bla bla .........after the long introduction and after giving us her rules and regulations what she call her ten commandment she turn to the board and wrote DEFINITION OF SOCIAL STUDIES.

Class who can define social studies various hands were raised you! stand up and define social studies she said pointing to a girl at the third role of the class, Before you answer tell the class your name. I am Judith Solomon. social studies can be define as the study of man and his bla bla bla...... ..

So na definition of social studies this fine woman come class come dey teach us abi social study definition wey me don already know since from my primary one nawa oo i said to myself.

The claping hands of the class brought me back to reality and i immediately joined them in claping for Judith.

Judith was a dark in complexion beautiful girl she had the kind of teeth most Nigerians call Open teeth and it also added to her beauty especially when she smiled .

Miss fiaona after teaching for about 35minutes stylishsly catwalk out of the class. Oh mehn see Nyash! Dis kind nyash go sweet oo...... A boy seated opposite me shouted as miss fiaona left the class the boy i learnt was call '' Oga Sir'' by almost everybody i name i still wonder why he was call that till today...........to be continued.

Guy, dont give up. I dey ya back bumper to bumper.

It seems this ur story go make sense wella.

But i have two corections for u.
1- try as much as possible to avoid abbreviations except if you are speaking a pidgin grammar that needs abbreviation.
Bcus i can see u puting 'you' as 'u'
in the story.

2-pls start every different statement said by someone in a new paragraph, like the talk berween u and ur mum, and try to use ur punctuation wateva.

This story would be good man, kip it up.

After school hours that day, some of my class mates assisted me to convey my belongings to the hostel. Not that they willingly volunterd to help me but because they were intrusted by the seniour who brought me to my class that morning to do so.

Rima house hostel was the second hostel in the boys hostel after Niger house, It was painted red and beside the hostel gate was boldly written RIMA HOUSE BOYS.

The hostel had eight rooms, two laundries, a very big courtyard, ten bathrooms and ten toilet and a reservoir on the side of the courtyard and both the bathrooms and toilet had tap running inside. Water won't be a problem i said to myself but i was so so wrong.

I took a careful look at each of the rooms to see i could find any empty bunk where i can put my matrass but i didn't see any.

As soon as i got to the door of room four i saw two empty bunks so i put my matrass on one of the bunk and put my bag under the bunk.

The hostel was really quiet that afternoon because almost all the student had gone to the dining hall for their afternoon meal........to be continued

I was still trying to arranged my belongings and move all my provision from my bag to my locker when i heard...

Juniour Boys last person to run outside i quickly close my bag and ran outside with the speed of light. And saw other student running outside like mad men from room one to room six room seven and eight was occipaid by the SS3 students and no juniour student dare entered those two rooms unless if a seniour sent for you.

I was expecting this already but i never knew it would be this early because i have already been brief about hostel life by Seniour papilo.

Seniour papilo was the same seniour who took me to my class that morning and other some of my mates to carry my stuff to the hostel. I latter got to know why he was called papilo.

All the Juniour students assembled at the courtyard and we lined up according to our classes.

Juniour Boys!
Yes! We all chorused.

Juniour Boys seniour nelson shouted like a military officer

Yes! We all shouted like soldiers on the parade ground............M update coming soon

JJC Boys!
Yes!
We all answerd yes to every name he called us.I thought we were having a house assembly or something similar.

It was obvious the older student who had been in the hostel and those juniour student who had only spent a week in the hostel were already use to such gatherings because the look on their faces said it all.
Re: BAD INFLUENCE A story. by Perfecter4real(m): 8:50am On Sep 18, 2013
We all waited in anticipation to hear what seniour Nelson had to say.

Juniour boys i dey hungry.seniour nelson finally said.

Huh? So na why dis seniour call us be dis? If u dey hungry how that one take concern us,abi na us be ur papa ne? i said to myself Feeling irritated.

If you get milk move to my right, seniour nelson continued''

If u get sugar or bornvita move to my left and side

If u get golden-morn or cornflakes stay behind me.

All the students immediately divided themselves into various groups. While myself and some new student who just resumed that day where still standing on our line without moving an inch.

Seniour na Gee i get oooo! Solomon an ss2 boy shouted.

Solomon head was the biggest head i have ever seen. I couldn't help but wonder how he managed to pass through his mother's........................during child birth. Intact all his mates called him ''head master'' . If u call him (hammer head of horror) you won't be far from the truth.

I no dey drink Gee ooooo'' seniour nelson answered him incase you are wondering Gee was the nick name of garri in fgc sokoto.

So all of una wey stand here una wan tell me say una no get anything to give me abi?

Seniour nelson said pointing to us.

Yes seniour we answered.

Ok make all of una lie down flat he said removing his skin belt from his waist.

I turn back to look behind me to my greatest surprise i was the only person standing on that line. All my mates had suddenly disappeared.

Re: BAD INFLUENCE A story. by Perfecter4real(m): 7:58pm On Sep 18, 2013
Without being told. I immediately ran with the speed of light and fixed myself into one of the groups. To avoid stories that touches the heart .

Because i couldn't stand the pain of being flog by a skin belt that hot afternoon.

I found myself in the mist of of those who are to give seniour Nelson corn-flakes or golde-mourn.

Chai ! So na dis seniour go first help me lunch my provison wey my mama buy for me?

I said to myself with a frown on my face. So i had no choice but to give half the pack of my cornflakes to seniour Nelson.

Atleast it was better than receiving countless number of Canes...

''I go try make so say no seniour touch me today'' I said to myself but how wrong i was.
