"To al-Shabaab, the Pakistani terrorists, al-Qaeda affiliates in Syria and Iraq and indeed everyone and all others who have turned the blood of civilians into such a cheap commodity and whom we are so clearly cursed to have to know as co-religionists: the connection ends there.

You never touched anything except that you destroyed it, you never entered a legitimate cause except that you corrupted it, you never came across the sanctity of human life except that you violated it, and you never tried to act in the name of Islam except that you polluted it.

Allah, His Messenger and we the laity are free from your murder and your misguidance.

You thought you were doing Muslims a favour by examining them, letting them out if they passed your creed test and then slaughtering the remaining non-Muslims?!

Prepare to be held accountable for your actions for you might have allowed Muslims to escape from your shopping centre attacks and Church attacks, but *you* will not be spared if the Shari'ah we dream of ever gets to be applied on you.

Being the right colour, having the right surname, knowing the name of the Prophet's family members, being from the right sect and anything else from your pathetic understanding of Islam, might have been your sick way of making yourselves feel better before you started slaughtering innocent people, but it will not save you. Be sure of that. For indeed Allah does not like the Transgressors."

- Sheikh Abu Eesa Niamatullah

Barbaric acts by a few in the name of religion make it very difficult for the rest of the peace loving followers of the same religion.

- Mufti Ismail Menk

Just checked the alshabab twitter account and they are even giving their own BREAKING NEWS about their communication with the attackers. Shame on them to even justify this attack by saying they escorted all the Muslims to safety before launching their attack on innocent civilians. Like they're trying to score points with Muslims around the world for their merciful tactics.
Wow, how hate can blind fool people and make them think they're crime was nothing but doing good deeds.

- Sheikh Yaser Birjas

In Islam we are told to support our brothers in right and wrong.

We do this by helping the oppressed and by reminding the oppressors how their oppression is wrong. To those killing any innocent muslim or non-muslim, your time will come when the Greatest Judge will settle all accounts.

This is NOT the act of one who understands Islam.

Allah guide us all and help us to teach those who use such methods the massive error in their ways and understanding.

- Gary Larocque

#WestgateAttack in #Kenya is murder, sinful, barbaric, Un-Islamic extremism, Haram, satanic, heartbreaking, criminal, heinous & cowardly

I could not understand the need to keep using the word, Muslim in their tweets as if they were doing us a favour. They were hoping for our understanding or solidarity or what?

They are most probably high on delusions.

I am just tired of having to say it again and again that they are not fighting for Muslims and what they are doing has no basis in Islam.

Even Muslims are affected.

I pray for world peace. I pray for the victims. I pray for the Muslims who would face the repercussion of this because of all the 'coded' terrorists living among us.

God help us.

Talk is cheap.

It is better that things like these are prevented than apologising for it as if all muslims are responsible.

Steps to prevent such? Empty.

Very valid point. I hope the Kenyan government's reaction will be effective. I can understand their involvement in Somalia but it seems they forgot their backyard.

The causes of terrorism are multi-faceted and deep. Hence, it is something most people aren't competent to profer solutions for.

What is your view on preventing terrorism?

Did you see anyone apologising? No Muslim has to apologise for this. I don't like that this happens. I am sad that it does but I owe no one apology for what I am not a part of.

Even the president of Ghana made it clear it is not a matter of religion.

It is a vicious circle, I am afraid.

What actions would you take on Nairaland were you a Muslim?
This is very interesting
Muslims keep quiet. The Critics say "They never condemn terrorism"
Muslims condemn terrorism. The critics say "talk is cheap" actions taken to prevent terrorism? empty
But suppose a muslim posts here inciting people to violence, the critics would say "see the way they are trying to kill us"

Anyway, words carry weight. People are incited by words and can be de-radicalised by them

But whatever the ultimate objective of this constant nit-picking is, we will not leave Islam. What I know Islam stands for is vastly different from what these people are doing.

May Allah console the innocent people who have lost loved ones and may He change the minds of the criminal who revel in these senseless acts
May Allah save us from the trial of these misguided ones.

What is deep in the fact that a man opens a verse of the book he calls Holy and reads a passage and the next thing he does if is to take up arms against an unprotected person? Killing a man God has not judge only because he doesn't know the name of the mother of your prophet is barbaric and such a religion should be questioned. Christians are not perfect but they wont kill for religion.

I feel very sad each time Islam is coined a 'Religion of Violence'. When in fact it preaches peace. Sometimes I feel the violence is brought forward by poverty which paves way for 'Brain washing' and an eventual radicalism. May the souls of the departed rest in peace.

I was about to say "Finally! About time. After years of it being due, we are finally getting there" but then I decided to check something first and I decided not to say it anymore.

All these guys are Western-influence imams. Hardly representative of the main problems and highly ignorable.

Sheikh Abu Eesa Niamatullah - A UK-born and raised Pakistani. Still lives in the UK.

Mufti Ismail Menk - Zimbabwe-born and raised Indian who now lives in South Africa.

Sheikh Yaser Birjas - A Kuwait-born Palestine who has lived in the US since 2000.

Gary Larocque - A White convert to Islam.

Sheikh Yahya Adel Ibrahim - A Canadian-born and raised Egytian who now lives in Australia.

Hardly the people that would make meaningful change. All are raised or based in places where Muslims are a minority.

tbaba1234:
In Islam we are told to support our brothers in right and wrong.

This is an example of one of the numerous problems I keep on alluding to when I say something is wrong with the Islamic religion.

Illogical and cultic!

Unfortunately, these problems cannot be changed because it is strongly woven in the doctrine and culture. Only conscience, civilisation or just plain domination over others would make some Muslims stop the violence because it is sooooooooo easy to find justification for killing others like chicken in the religion.

It is not the religion of peace!

I dare say VERY FEW PROMINENT Imams in a majority Muslim country can or will condemn these kinds of evil actions because a significant proportion of the populace would see it as siding with the enemy: Kaffirs!

"Support you brothers even when they are wrong?" ............Houston, we have a problem!

Ok it's clear their actions are againgst muslim tenets
But What I want to understand is this.
in all the nations where there is islamic presence why is there always bloodshed?

Now I won't lie that I've not met peaceful muslims before.infact I'm friends with one for now
But these things keep happening and what we hear is that they aren't true muslims.

But they are muslims after all aren't they?
Now if there are muslim religious leaders on NL

I have a question for you guys.seeing as religious killings are being carried out in almost all muslim countries by the so called muslim exTremists, what have you guys done to stop this?asides from coming out after the attacks to condemn(when u do)

Have you people set up bodies throughout your religious domains to try and teach your youth tolerance for other religions?

do u make it a point of every religious gathering to preach to your youngsters peace and love for other people?
It starts from the home.now what do you teach your kids? Sometime we preach hate without knowing it.words like 'infidel' used to describe people of other religions only gives the kids an impression that it's ok to despise other people.

Do you teach them that it's ok to make friends(real friends) from other religions? Maybe even marry them?(I know they won't let this one happen)
As long as we keep up with these little segregations, it should come as no surprise when things like these happen.because they are the fruits of the tree of religious segregation.

If what they are doing is truely against muslim teachings, stand up and fight for your religion!

Show it.prove to the world that it isn't what you stand for.
