@op when i say i understand ur plight i truly do..i wouldn't wana narrate my ordeal here..i had so many dreams growing up..but when i got into the real WORLD i noticed that things are not as we wish dem to be..i used to breakdown sometimes and cry and thought i was hopeless but i never gave up..i continued hussling and today i can say things are gradually falling in place..pay no heed to those who are blasting you, telling you to open a bussiness they think it's that easy, maybe they came from priviledged homes..i got one thing to tell you be strong, never give up.try to do your best at anything you find yourself doing...peace my bro

@op,u should just hang on there, its going to get better someday. They say hope is the last thing to leave a man;when there is life there is still hope.... no matter how little it is.
if u really think about it , some are dead, some are in the hospital and if u should give them an opportunity to be in this your position right now am sure they would be the happiest people in the world right now.
you don't know what tomorrow has in store for you,all u can do for your family, friends, loved ones and mostly especially yourself is not to give up on yourself but to channel the frustration and do something positive for this great nation called Nigeria.

What did you study in university?
Do you have any bankable skills?
How old are you?
Are you married? Kids?
Where do you live?
If I offered to sponsor you to come to US what would you do?

Amelian: Op, hate the mindset .... Not the country, which can be empty and void if there is no one living in it...am not saying u shud blow up everyone. grin.. But don't u think, u shud occupy your mindset, with something creative, instead of waiting endlessly for the strike to be over... Look within, and and think beyond the box...be positively creative with your mind, also turning it into buisness.. God will not come down from heaven to solve issues here, that has already been solved years back..
So be positive and think inwards to bring out something that u think is not there and will u will surprised ... It could be marketable...and sort out for...
Best of luck in your search.

I was just about to say...it's not the country but it's the bleeped up people in the country.

Those who still believe in Nigeria should go on... They ain't seen nothing yet.
@OP, believe in your self and start/learn something- a business /skills. You surely will need a lot of humility because you may need to go below your qualification or status. Try to be the best in whatever you are doing and trust in divine intervention, you will come out successfully.
I wish you the best.

I understand where the OP is coming from and the feeling is kinda mutual.I wont even speak about light, corruption and sh*t cos i'm tired!!

But Have the youths ever wondered where their future lies? There is No future for the youths in Nigeria, excpt a Nigerian JJ rowlings steps up!! They keep telling you that you are the leaders of tmrw, when is tmrw? most of these men in power have been there ever since naija got her independence, and are still fighting to be there, and if/when they live they ll hand it over to their kids/family.

Haven't you noticed that the only "extra-ordinary" Nigerian youths are the ones who blew in music n showbiz?? how many people go sing? Madam Ibru gave out loans worth billions to family and friends, but you won't get a loan for your studies/projects?

Right look at ASUU on an indefinite strike at the expense of your lives!! for funds that most definitely won't be used for the reasons they are being asked. These guys they don't care about you.. all their kids are studying in the best universities abroad, and after studying abroad even with a "third class" they ll get jobs in giant companies in Naija, while you will be trekking from Ojuelegba to the island everyday with your first class honor and CV, till the tip of your shoes swear to the heavens, finding it difficult to even get the most modest jobs just because you don't have "connections". Is that life?

All of you telling the OP to go and learn work... what kinda work?? wheel barrow pushing? electricity? plumbing? tailoring? repairing gen? or repairing Xbox in oshodi? smh, is this life? smh

The only way Naija will change is for someone/people, with backing from God to step up and challenge and overthrow the government just like JJ rowlings did, the corruption has eaten too deep.

If u were born in Togo or Niger even Sudan, I don't think u would ve appreciated it better. All dat u need is inside u. Take time to listen to urself more, develop d habit of visiting craft men, say, Mechanic, Electrician , Fashion designers, carpenters. If u are a Christian, try ur hands with instruments, u might be very surprise of the kind of vision u'll ve. Don't stay idol in dis strike period. Learn or read books extraneous from ur course of studiesn I.e If u are still a student. Visit counsellor near u for a hear 2 heart talk. A lot has surmounted d problem even worse problems, today they stand out to be counted. Nigeria teaches us to be strong, to be unshakable. Just have it in mind dat whatever it is cannot be worse than this. Gudnite
