Jihad is a process whereby senseless allah followers fight for him since he is so powerless to fight his own battles.

@Abuzola

You cannot continue to say Jihad is a struggle without any scriptural refrence. Since you can not back it up with a single scripture verse, we will make do with Quran 9:29, 9:5. There are still more.

Quran 9:5
Then, when the sacred months have passed, slay the idolaters wherever ye find them, and take them (captive), and besiege them, and prepare for them each ambush. But if they repent and establish worship and pay the poor-due, then leave their way free. Lo! Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

Quran 9:29
Fight against those who (1) believe not in Allâh, (2) nor in the Last Day, (3) nor forbid that which has been forbidden by Allâh and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW) (4) and those who acknowledge not the religion of truth (i.e. Islâm) among the people of the Scripture (Jews and Christians), until they pay the Jizyah[] with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued.

Dexmond i suggest you go back to school, so you expect the bible to tell you the meaning of 'go' because it used it

@Abuzola

Why did you ask me to go back to school? It is you that should go back. You can check the meaning of scripture on google. It could mean the bible, quran, the buddhist sacred writing etc. ok Now you can bring references from your books.

May Allah guide you, dexmond.
Re: What Is Jihad? by dexmond: 2:20pm On Nov 29, 2009
ALLAH has already guided me into the Truth. Quran 1:4 says "show us(muslims) the straight path" Please continue this prayer so Allah will let you know the truth about Islam. May ALLAH guide you in your recital of al-fatiyah.

@MUhsin

What is your opinion on Uthman-dan fodio's, Sekou Ahmadu, Abubakr Jihads? Were they struggling with sin or what?

@dexmond- if you don't undestand what you can't prove keep quiet, the Quran did not give the definition of jihad, jihad is an arabic word meaning holy struggle. This is the best answer i can give you

jihad

1. With the heart (intentions or feelings),

2. With the hand (weapons, etc.),

3. With the tongue (speeches, etc., in the Cause of Allah)

Allah has rewarded the one who performs it with lofty dwellings in the Gardens (of Paradise).
