Mayhem On Third Mainland Bridge
Having the popularity as the longest bridge in west Africa or is it in Africa as a whole? whichever it is, third mainland bridge is many things to many people and to me its just a route i take to work every evening as a night shift nurse in a private hospital on Lagos island, but on this fateful day, third mainland bridge became known to me in a different dimension.

the day was a Saturday, the time was 10.00pm and i was already running late for my shift, i had barely reached the middle of the bridge when my car started making a funny sound, the last thing i needed was a broken down vehicle in the middle of the third mainland bridge at this time of the night, but like fate would have it, what i needed wasn't what i got, the car stopped abruptly and there i was sitting helplessly not knowing what to do, i wanted to come down but i didn't think it was safe for me as a lady to come down on the bridge at this time of the night, i called the driver of the hospital emergency bus, explained my situation to him, he agreed to come pick me up and so i waited , i didn't realize how dangerous my situation was until situation started unfolding before my eyes.About 30 minutes after my car broke down a large black SUV drove past me and parked some 200 meters away from my car, it didn't look like the car was faulty because no one came down, in all the time i,d been on the bridge not too many cars went past my car, my car window was tinted and i left no light on in the car so it must have seemed there was no one in my car. A loud bang soon shook me out of my drifting thoughts, i looked up and i saw a small car park slowly a few meters away from mine, a ,man came down looked at his car tires, he soon brought out tools and was soon busy working on his car tire.

i looked on and did not even entertain the thought of coming down from my car, minutes after a very large man came down from the large black SUV that had earlier packed in front of me, speaking of tall, the man was really tall and he walked purposefully towards the man that was bent over the car fixing the tires, he was followed by another man wearing a flowing white traditional looking attire, he soon got close to the man working on the car, the man working on the car looked up and something scary happened, the large tall man brought a large knife looking like a machete and with such lightning speed he cut off the head of the man working on the car, i froze in fear where i was, the man wearing white picked up the severed head of the man while the large man picked up the dead man and threw him in the lagoon below the bridge, they returned swiftly to the black SUV and sped off, all the while I'd been sitting up and watching, i immediately ducked placing my head on the passenger seat of my car wishing what i just witnessed was a dream, but it wasn't i was on the third mainland bridge and i was alone in broken down vehicle, a sudden knock on my car window immediately turned up my fear to a high volume as i thought the head hunters came back for me, the knocking increased in tempo, shaking all over i fearfully looked up and there he was, the driver of the hospital emergency bus.
this story has been rewritten in my own words to fictionalize it, but it is based on a true account of two witness before whom this incidence happened as narrated on a popular radio program in Nigeria

Hhhhhhmmmmmm,

"Isale oro; o l'egbin"

"Eni ti ko ba mo nkan ti egbe re se la, lo ma saku"

Indeed, strange things are happening, in pursuit of wealth, power and authority.
So many stories like this have been heard and seen. The truth is innocent bloods are being shed in this land, just because of this world that is passing away.

The unfortunate part is that, those who proved to be godly will be questioning God for not making them wealthier without thinking of how many of those wealth big people made their wealth.

"Godliness with contentment is a great gain". I believe these words should be the motto of everyone who claims to be godly.
Never envy anyone, because of anything, be it money, power, fame, authority, etc because, you never can say, where and how those things are gotten.

Never wish to be like someone in terms of riches, power, fame, authority, etc, because you might not have or lose what it takes to pass through what the person passed through before getting to the level the person is.

Rather, let us pursue righteousness and holiness, without which no one can see God.

May God help us all.

P. S:::
I'm not saying there are no legitimate, true and sincere wealthy people, but the ratio is very low.

Its like passing through a den of lions.if anyone survives it.he or she needs to go and do thanksgiving.back to the matter

you are very right.you will see people whose hands are filled with innocent blood wealthy and protect themselves through physical and spiritual means.they are the ones with so much body guards, they are the ones who send their kids abroad to study for security reasons.smh.infact ehen, its a jungle out there.melo lafe ka ninu eyin adepele.the irony of it all is that, many of them will use the money they have used to shed innocent blood as tithe, offering and church welfare package or to support the ministry.many pastors will collect such defiled money and be buying cars.wo,it is well jare.God will keep protecting his own from evil men and women.ani rin ojo tebi ba pa ona,ani kosowo ni ember moth yi,tebi, tara.no nairalander or their families will be a victim of all this in jesus name o!

I choose to believe because i have seen badly a dismembered body before on Third Mainland Bridge.

On another ocassion, i help called Econent Wireless Emergency Rescue number with another person's line in order to rescue a man badly wounded as a result of gun shot after he managed to escape. Ikoyi Military Hospital Officers met us there and took the man away to their hospital. Time: 06:20hrs.

So you are right. Anything can happens to you on that bridge in the dead-of-the-night if you are stranded.

Avoid Crossing The Bridge Late In The Night Unless Of Course Your Car Is Still Doing Well.

Aunty Ify, forget about blogs or bloggers o, do you think it's not possible, it's damn possible. Atleast, I have two women around me whose job may not even afford them to buy bicycles, but they are using tinted glass SUVs. Some people just take up some works just to while away time or shut people's mouth for calling them full housewives.
One of them is a public secondary school teacher, she's even a very close friend of mine, so, I know her very well, its not only one or two vehicles, she's in control of fleet of big cars and they are all tinted. So, can you believe that an ordinary teacher can use those type of cars?
The other woman is not a close person to me but I see her almost everyday, she works in my kids' private nursery and primary school as a teacher, popularly called aunty, and the school is not one of those very expensive private schools o, she cruises in a tinted glass big SUV.
So, dear, its possible for a nurse to use a tinted glass, who knows, the husband or her siblings or parents might be very wealthy and influential.
May God help us all.

^ ^ If a nurse in Nigeria can afford to cruise around in tinted glass cars she won't be found running night shift ,driving from mainland to Island daily, moving about without a driver and atleast one security escort.
Everybody has his or her own reality and for me this is merely bloggers story.
Things happen at night on third mainland bridge,no doubt but this story? It's called bedtime story.

what is "good" about your story? Who needs the encouragement, blogger or imaginary nurse?

You'll do well to continue your chat with folks that actually "believe" your story. I dislike bloggers like you(if u are the original writer) who use their blogs to portray the country in a negative light. Why sit down and cook up such a lie? Topics to blog about don finish?
