“We do not pray for accidents but they are inevitable. But we will continue to do everything to ensure that we do not have accidents. But an accident is an act of God.

“Again, we do not speculate on the cause of accidents. Until they happen, you cannot say this is the cause or that is not the cause. But what is obvious and is the truth is that, in aviation, there are shared responsibilities, starting from the man that carries your luggage to the man that makes sure that your boarding pass is issued to you".

To start with, what you have in quotes up there is Orisun editor's understanding of what the Minister said. She said accidents are an act of God (a phrase that refers to the occurrence of accidents despite preparedness) or a force majeure as Sterling pointed out, not that an accident is God's will (which is different and sounds crazy).

ICAO may certify Nigerian airspace as being the safest in Africa, but we Nigerians know that with what is on ground our airspace is far from it. It was this same lie we peddle even after our plane crashed in a Ghanaian airport. We've had enough of foreign agencies giving us false claim about our country. Was it not another foreign body, World Bank/IMF with their agent, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, that tell us our economy is doing well when in reality it is nose diving?

To think that a one time Minister of Aviation's dead body was invovled in an air crash that killed not less than 14,

Haven't you heard the saying that God's ways are not that of man's? God can use such accidents to teach some lessons or achieve something. Anyway, this is not an excuse for not sanitizing our Aviation sector.
