The Organization For The Prohibition Of Chemical Weapons won the 2013 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday. The prize, awarded by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in Stockholm, is given annually to "champions of peace." There were 259 candidates for the Peace Prize this year, a new record according to the Nobel Committee. The previous record was in 2011, when there were 241 candidates, The Washington Post reported. |

Great choice. The OPCW is responsible for the ongoing dismantling of Syria's chemical weapons. |
