The gross inadequacy of houses in our urban centres is a serious source for concern to this administration. Within the last 4 years, the government has evolved policies and programmes aimed at addressing this problem. To this end 1000 housing estates as well as State Low Cost Houses were sold to Civil Servants on owner occupier basis with 30% subsidy. Other programmes and projects executed in the housing and environment sector include:
- Creation of Ministry of Housing to effectively coordinate policies and programmes on housing.
- Commencement of the construction of 5,000 unit of houses through Public – Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement.
- Contract for the completion of Tambari Housing Estate and provision of infrastructure at the Housing Estate.
- Procurement of fire fighting equipment.
- Construction of Darazo Drainage.
- Urban slums upgrading in Bauchi metropolis.

- General Hospital, Azare - completed
- General Hospital, Giade - completed
- General Hospital, Bogoro - completed
- General Hospital, Jama’are - completed
- General Hospital, Ningi - completed

»Water for all project:
- Rehabilitation and Upgrading of Gubi Dam Water Project.
- Renovation of Old Gubi Dam Water Treatment Plant.
- Construction of 200 Motorized Solar Powered Boreholes and 200 Hand Pumps located all over the state.
- Construction of Liman Katagum and Bayara Water Schemes.
- Construction of additional 38 Water Supply Schemes all over the state.
- Completion of Environmental Impact Analysis of Kafin Zaki Dam.
»Agricultural sector:
- Fertilizer procurement : Over 127,685 metric tonnes of fertilizer were procured and distributed to farmers in the state.
- Reactivated the Fertilizer Blending Plant
- Installation and commissioning of Kaolin Granulator was achieved.
- Procurement and Distribution of 1,200 Power tillers to the farmers.
- Purchase of additional tractors.
- Completion of Boto Grain Silos.
- Conducted training of 3,000 youth as contract sprayers.
- Conduct training of 10,000 youth under the Sasakawa Global Programme.
- Cash crop production especially cotton, sesame, gum Arabic and Groundnut.
- Government has also introduced annual vaccination exercise to cattle rearers all over the State.
»Education:
-Construction/building of high class state university.
- Total renovation of Seventy Eight (78) Secondary Schools all over the state.
- Mass recruitment of teachers for both Primary and Secondary Schools.
- Construction of additional block of classrooms for the Basic Education.
- Provision of water in all Secondary Schools in the state.
- Doubling the feeding allowance of all boarding students.
- General renovation and reconstruction of College for Legal and Islamic Studies, Misau.
- Procurement of text books for all levels of students in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Institutions in the state worth #2.6bn.
- Training and re-training of teachers in the state.
- Introduction of HATISS salary structure for teachers in our Tertiary Institutions in the state.
- Payment of NECO fees to students annually.
- Sponsoring of Bauchi State indigenes to study abroad including Aeronautics Engineering and Piloting in the US, Medicine in Egypt and other specialized course in Brazil and Malaysia.
- Increment of scholarship allowances for both foreign and local students.
- Improvement of condition of service of the Agency for Adult and Non Formal Education.
- Improvement in the salary of teachers.
- Establishment of Agency for Nomadic Education.
- Introduction of Volunteer Teacher Scheme in the state.
- Twenty one (21) students have been sponsored by the Government to train as Pilots and Aircraft Maintenance Engineers in the United States of America at the cost of #160 million annually.
»Airport:
The Bauchi state Gov. Isa Yuguda proceed to build/construct N8billion international airport despite the state has two airports, making the state to have two national airport and an international airport, also boosting the tourism of Nigeria.
»Government paid N18 billion out of the inherited over N22 billion debt.
