Yorubas are full of deceit and cannot be trusted. Those who dared to trust them are either all dead or are living severe regret of the perils of trusting a yorubaman. I think Igbos have painfully realized the true nature of a yoruba is deceit. Yoruba does not care if they harm themselves as long as Igbo is hurt.Tambuwal is speaker today instead of a Yoruba man because yoruba will rather scheme to make Igbo secretary to the federation rather than senate President agreed before the election. Therefore,I think yoruba should help north to rule Nigeria for 200 years and after GEJ in 2019, Igbos should also help the north do whatever it likes with Nigeria.Until such a time yoruba will come to their senses that they actually gain nothing by being so anti Igbo. If that is what it takes to bring yoruba to reason again like sensible people.Even the British and the Germans at some point realized they had more to gain by cooperation than war 4 Likes |

ikwere militant: as well as hypocrisy backstabing talkng frm d both side of d mouth nd cowardice run in d vains of yorubasThe Igbo have for a long time been referring to the Yoruba as cowards whereas other Nigerian nationalities have acknowledged the Yoruba as strong and diplomatic. The Igbo perception is deluded and borne out of jealousy as they know that over the centuries, the Yoruba have been engaged in brutal wars, both within and without. For instance, when the Fulani jihadists began attacking the Yoruba to subjugate them as they (Fulani) did to the Hausa, the Yoruba eventually repelled them by odua's mercy. However, the Igbo who like referring to themselves as a warrior nation even though they have no history of warfare or empire-building, lost woefully in their bid to secede as Biafra from Nigeria during the civil war of 1967-1970. They sowed the seeds for the loss but blame others till today. When the war started, they secured their territory of the Eastern region, but they felt it was not enough for them. So they marched westward into Yoruba territory. Previously the Yoruba were not taking sides in the war but then got involved upon seeing the Igbo invasion. This event, the greedy invasion and big blunder by the Igbo, and the subsequent success of the Yoruba in repelling and defeating them and marked the end of that Biafran delusion 1 Like |

re@lchange:At the start of the 19th century Ilorin was a border town in the northeast of the Oyo Empire, with a mainly Yoruba population but with many Hausa-Fulani immigrants or slaves. It was the headquarters of an Oyo General, Afonja, who rebelled against the empire and helped bring about its collapse with the assistance of the Fulani. [ 1 ]The rebellion was powered by Hausa, Nupe and Bornu Moslem slaves. [ 2 ]Afonja had been assisted by Salih Janta, also called Shehu Alimi, a leader of the local Fulani. Slizbeat: We igbos have no problem with the Yorubas. The only problem we have with them is that "they fail to understand that the North is not friendly indeed". They keep on allying with the North and getting stabbed always but are yet to discover the true cause of their problems. If they would stand up against the North for a Southern president(Be it Yoruba, Igbo or Ijaw e.t.c) until 40 years time or agree to peaceful succession, then they have our backing. It's high time we all fight for a single course. You guys are shameless liars . Who went into aliance with Ahmadu Bello to form a government in 1960 and who was in opposition. Who went into alliance with NPN in 1979 as the NPP "Bride"" while UPN was sidelined. Who was the Vice President and Speaker House of Reps in 1979-83. Answer that and you will see who "keeps allying with North" Why do you alway tell bold faced Lies. We have principles politicaly and will rather have nothing than tainted power or be second class citizens. Finally who sold out Anambra state to Shagari in 1983? The very same Ikebe of Hoonawy , Eze WuruWuru of Eboeland so he could become a Senator of Hoonaywee. Please stop the LIES |

biafranqueen: True Federalism is the only way right now. We should focus on building up our individual areas. At this point my people are not sure if they want a President or to separate entirely. So the best and quickest option is to create a fiscal federalism as you pointed out. Its not true |

The response here is simple! Yoruba is far too civilized to be stepping back and seeking alliance with people who records show had no civilization prior to contact with whiteman. You go into alliance with people at your level of social and human developmenr. I understand the sentiments of Adebanjo being a remark given to encourage ibo spirit against thinking everyone hates them, but i bet if you ask Adebanjo if he will give his daughter to an ibo for marriage or his son to marry an ibo he will change tone on this remark. This is what is called pep talk .............something to make your audience feel good about themselves and get a sense of elation that they are in same social class with Yoruba. Its kinda like George Bush telling Goodluck Jonathan, look, we both love hats and animals. Does that mean they belong in same class? Ibos are always in search of attache, i can imagine their getting sweet belle hearing Adebanjo offer a line for them to attach to Yoruba civilization. |

2 Esdras 6:56 As for the other people, which also come of Adam, thou hast said that they are nothing, but be like unto spittle: and hast likened the abundance of them unto a drop that falleth from a vessel. Igbos (The real ones) want nothing to do with Canaan. |

cKaiser:- Let us not go deep into the political marriage between Hausa(head) and Yoruba(spare) to destory igbo race esp after the civil war. It is a hiding conspiracy and calculated attempt to impoverish the South East. But look at the self achievements of the igbos since after the war even when the little ones they had was equally taken away from them by the FG. The igbos started rebuilding and today they have surpass in the midst of the enemies. I encourage the Yorubas to leave up to expectation and speak out as people who enjoy free education early. Dnt die in silence when Hausas want to have their ways. God bless the right people. |
