Sometimes i wonder what this issue of 'introduction' really mean. Most time you get to see ceremonies in the name of introduction, then another for traditional marriage, and again wedding. Why is introduction so important? Can't it be merged with the traditional marriage or even excluded in totality? Married pals share your opinion!.

Ideally introduction, as the name implies means introducing the two families to each other. Getting to know more people from both families. The ceremony depends on the participating family. It shouldn't be something thousands of naira are wasted.

Introduction is very paramount! Infact it's the most important cos that's where the two families get to know each other and formally approve the coming together of the man and woman. That's where they give their blessings. In the Yoruba culture, introduction is the real deal! The wedding ceremony/traditional marriage is just for "fe ferity" lol... (Just for celebration)... cheesy cheesy

I know some couples that did just introduction and they started living as husband and wife! Since both families have met and consented to their relationship.

NO!!! That's why it's called "Pre-marriage contact"

Come to think of it, if the two families don't meet before the traditional wedding, how will they fix the date for it?
