Bro, you play very well o. I love your style too. How long have you been a guitarist?
officially 2006.. but i have been in ma local choir since 1997.. as at 1999.. i could recognise solfas (no sight reading)
the piano is my first love, stil is. i can only sight read with the guitar slowly though ( its just treble clef, no bass clef)
guy most importantly passion..

i feel awful when i attend good concerts ( why my life bend like this?, why i no fit play reach that guy) grin
i touch d guitar for at least 10 mins everyday.. not necessarily rehearsing new technique
i barely listen to songs for lyrics sake or for listening pleasure ( this helps u produce music of from ur soul without interference)
and many more ... grin

most importantly, i dont play or rehearse what i dont enjoy yet (11ths and some irky chords) or what i dont understand ( tritones for now)... ( no be competition.. u have to feel good urself)

a good box (big size) is about 12k.. a semi acoustic of average quality goes for that 26k... u hv semi acoustic going for 200k (femi leye, bez).

this guy owns a guitar shop in oshodi, why would he request for money .. he sells guitars.. i gave u his contact to make it easier when u wanna locate his shop.
i thought the number is for the guitarist u want to hook me up with, abi u don forget dat one

I don't think you can get a semi-acoustic guitar at that low price. An ordinary acoustic guitar or an extreme secondhand guitar fits that budget though...
shifting budget to next year....make i dy console myself with you guys recording grin

Nigerians are not popular fans of rock/metal music. People tell me my style of guitar playing is rock though, I think I love it though. It requires fast strumming with a lots of string hammering and string bending too. I rep acoustic rock!!!

Nastydroid, you wanna be an aspiring rock player like me?
Re: A thread for acoustic guitarist: beginners, amateurs and professionals by TonySpike: 1:16pm On Oct 14, 2014
This is a recording I did sometime ago, a little bit rocky with lots of string hammering sounding in the bass background. A sort of cover for a fast version of "Here am I to worship".

a clean guitar sound (no effects) + african drums styles + a sound bass + some soulful singing (asa style) + some native proverbs, some languages here and there = the latest trend we can use to make ourselves relevant and respected

You need lots of practice, dude. I'm still learning how to properly switch from one Barre chords to another...very rigorous for me.

Lero15... music is beautiful... dont rush it.

u have to understand ur fretboard first.

master ur basic chords
then learn some rudiments

everybody posts thier best on youtube.. so it might be discouraging.. dont worry.
before u learn a cmaj7add9th chord.. understand they key center, key C..
. undertand ur diatonic scale (drmfsltd) on d fret board
. duet with thirds and minor thirds.. (d_m, r-f, m-s....)
. add ur fifths ( d_m_s, r_f_l...)
. then use open chords more.. E, G, A, D C.. can have magic in them.. the open notes, very easy

go at ur pace..
most importantly, get a tutor.. so u dont get to skip the seemingly boring but needful things..

I think your capo position should be on fret 2 or 3 depending on your voice. The strumming pattern is something like D-U-D-U-D in three pieces per chords for most part of the song. The chords used in the song are in this order: G, Em, D and C (Cadd9 most preferable).

Good luck!

The function of the capo is to firstly shorten you strings by moving the nut position indirectly. This simultaneously helps you to switch to a higher key especially if your voice pitch is high. The chart below shows you how the keys change with different fret positions of the capo.
