If I may ask, will poor people benefit anything from all these purchases and millions of naira exchanging hands?

BekeeBuAgbara:
Oh! it was NCAA which has Captain Fola Akinkuotu as its D.G that requested for the cars not Princess Stella Oduah as was ealier reported by Sahalie reporters.

Why nobody is talking about Fola Akinkuotu?
Why do people leave the 'nyash' that farts to go knocking the innocent head.

The days some section of the country would use the media to kick Igbos out of office unnecessaryly are coming to an end.
Who is fola boss? Who does he report to? Under who is NCAA? Who calls the short? Guy lets call a spade a spade even if its a yoruba, hausa or igbo let the law take it course. Btw if it's in my country she would have resign guilty or not guilty.

ogb5: If what she says is true and due process was followed in procurement of the vehicles, then can she sue Sahara reporters for libel? She can even add Nairaland to the suit.

Patricia Ete also followed due process in the N650m saga undecided

The question is how can you buy an armored vehicles for that amount? who approved it

This minister should simply quit quibbling, all her points are mere drivels. There is no mention of the whopping N255M cost for 2 units of BMW in her response.

This is simply amazing!!! For crying out loud no spec of BMW is sold for $800,000 anywhere in the world.

Shall we continue to watch these people squander funds unscrupulously without considering the POVERTY in the land

The story of the gej administration. Madam minister did not personally supervise airport upgrade, did not personally oversee tender, design construction etc, but as the minister of aviation, she takes full credit. No one else not the design firm project mgrs, construction firm etal have been feted. You cannot have it both ways. That is what leadership is about, taking responsibility not all this craven ncaa, nama etal. The buck stops at madam ministers table

We have a non-performing government. Period!

The bank mentioned and the car dealer should explain to Nigerians how 2 cars can cost that much. Are the engines made of diamond?

Imagine that I am the only seller of CocaCola in Nigeria, should the government be stupid enough to buy a bottle of it for Two thousand naira?

Wetin? Nigeria is bleeding! Nigerians are the enemies of Nigeria.

bigass:

why do have the purchasing and procurement depts? to find the true value/cost of goods before they are bought, to regulate against overinflated costs

slowpoke....do u even know about the public procurement act All federal agencies and parastatals acquire their assets or properties through bidding and tender....go and study that act well before you come here to spew rubbish

omenka: 1. In the history of NCAA, has the life of any of their visitors been made attempt on to necessitate the purchase of armored
vehicles

Until there is an attempt which will put Nigeria in the bad light or even sanctioned before Govt should start running like Headless chicken

2. The evidence of the bank statement of coscharis motors regarding this transaction as provided by Saharareporters (which coscharis hasn't denied) indicates that the purchase of the vehicles was through any means but "Lease Financing". Can she clarify that??

Fund movement will be between First bank and Coscharis while NCAA get the cars. Clarification lies with First bank therefore.

3. Was the purchase of the said "specialized security vehicles" approved in the ministry's budget as passed by the national assembly

She has quoted where the fund was approved. Check the explanation again. Is that kind of spending from IGR allowed for a parastatal?

4. Who were the other auto dealerships available at the bidding?? Was the quotation of coscharis the most competitive?
Competitiveness and value for money are two different things? Remember Fashola went for a Bulletproof Jeep of 200 Million each not because of just competitveness buh value for money (just an example)

5. We believe the other parastatals under the ministry receive foreign visitors from time to time as well?? Following your logic, they would be needing similar vehicles for their guests wouldn't they, madam minister

Which Parastatal is that FAAN

This one is simply indefensible madam.
Throw in the towel honorably and save whatever is left of your dignity. We know you arnt going to jail. This is Nigeria!!

Let the investigations be done rather than asking for a sack out of emotions and end the issue abruptly without learning for it.

Some of these my Igbo kinsmen are just so ignorant, they argue blindly and reason upside down. I keep saying that TRIBALISM destroys a man's brain and common sense. They defend with their minds, brains, eyes, ears all closed to all the facts; all they see and think about is: STELLA ODUAH IS AN IGBO WOMAN. Do we also behave this way in our different "towns' meetings" which hold once a month all over the country? Only a bastard destroys his "father's" house!

this is how the question should be presented.

Bia Madam,
where did you dispensarily manufactured the fund used in the acquittal acquisition of that high-technalized vehicle?
how much is your salary and how long have you drastically spent in this position to acquire such materialistically costly property?

didn't your lecturer teach you "Elasticity of demand in secondary school"

. . . . .Presiding Judge, Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia adjourned the matter indefinitely after Counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Festus Keyamo sought the transfer of the money laundering charges to another judge.

The EFCC has accused Mr Fani-Kayode of laundering about N230 million belonging to the Aviation ministry.. . . .

I have tried to avoid your idiotic posts on the saga of two BMW cars procured by NCAA for ministry of aviation. There have been many ill-informed posts to this discuss too. One poster even asked about tender board. Another talked about budget and yet one talked about corruption. One goofy dunce even talked about 760Li and yet he/she did not know the price of one run flat tire and certainly did not know there are trims of BMW 760Li. When taken to task to prove iota of their goofy accusations, they all fell flat on their faces.

Please for the sake of clarity, what do you know about budgetary processes? Nigerians can not learn by indulging in wild accusations spurred by tribal bias. If Nigeria has a civilized society, we could have learnt one or two things from this saga.

To all the defenders of this brazen misappropriation, nay outright theft of public resources entrusted in the hands of the minister and her staff, my prayer is, may your affairs and those of your families be run the way she is running the aviation ministry.

Ameen.

Interesting, she was prepared before commiting such an a prori blunder and misappropriation of fund. My opinion here is not in anyway against any body or agency to put in place required facilities that enhances proficiency in carrying out one's due duty. But the question is,why such exorbitant expenditure. Again, why the absence of preknowledge of mr president on such incurement and other bodies for final approval. I think ,she must be sufficiently scrutinized and sanctioned because her analysis and explanations shows no adequate clarity and its still has some atom of doubt. To serve as a detterent to others, because it is now like anybody could just wake up and decide on whatever blunder to do in the country and gets away with it untouched.that is why similar cases like this keeps on erupting. We should try as much as possible to restore due process in the country
