The hope of the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Chris Ngige, to become the next governor of Anambra State may have suffered a setback as mutual suspicion has allegedly set in between him and the APC chieftains funding his campaign.

However, feelers from the APC camp indicated that one of the party’s leaders and major financier, Bola Tinubu, had his reservation about Ngige’s readiness to honour the pact he had with them, including the controversies the APC gubernatorial candidate was said to have put the party lately.

An APC source who pleaded anonymity at a dinner in Victoria Island, Lagos, said the party leadership had always looked at Senator Ngige with suspicion. “The man has a history of not keeping his word. He is very slippery and seems to be constantly drawn to things that will give him cheap and instant popularity at the expense of long term, carefully thought-out political stratagems,” explained the source.

He said Ngige’s record of broken promises has made it difficult for the party leadership to mobilise the support of all the APC governors to push for his victory in the coming election as most of the governors believed that Ngige was simply playing along for now and would show his real nature once he wins the election.

“That was the reason most of the APC governors did not show up at the Onitsha campaign kick-off as earlier advertised. If you recall, we had put out an advertisement claiming that the 11 APC governors would be going to Onitsha to boost the overall appeal of Ngige’s candidature to his people. But most of the governors developed cold feet, fearing that Ngige would not make a loyal candidate as he would assert himself sooner than later,” the source further revealed.

The source pointed at the sudden withdrawal of support by Senator Annie Okonkwo, who had earlier accepted to serve as the Chairman of Ngige’s Campaign Committee as one of the reasons that made the APC governors withdraw their support for Ngige.

Also manipulated as one of the reasons the APC leadership is turning its back on Ngige are the accusations and vicious media attacks on for Lagos State governor, Senator Bola Tinubu and Adams Oshiomhole, who have been blamed by many Igbos for partaking in Ngige’s campaign kick-off on a day the Ofala festival was taking place in Onitsha.

“Our leaders are not happy that their participation in the Onitsha rally has cast them in the mould of anti-Igbos. They blame Ngige for not paying enough attention to details while planning his activities. They consider the Onitsha rally a mistake that should have been avoided.”

“As things stand now, I’m not sure that he will receive more funds from the party once he exhausts the last slush of funds that was released to his campaign committee,” the source revealed.

Whatever source or Tomato sauce u got it from...it sure su..cks cos its nt true!

If u are old and conversant with happenings in naija and the way the media report it,you will know that Thisday owned by Nduka Obaigbena is Pro-Establishment,same for the Sun,Vanguard,Champion,Compass,Tribune etc while The Nation owned by Tinubu always strive to balance or report it from another perspective...The Guardian still maintains their neutrality in all cases though

So if u stumble upon any 'expose' like the one up there, don't get worked up quickly cos there is probably another angle to the whole story!

Has Ngige informed you about the troubles he piled on his love ones in USA due to looting he perpetrated during his term as governor of Anambra State?

Your comment cracks me up. I mean seriously are you saying that Tinubu's owned media channel balances information. Well I am sure you are clearly talking from a biased point. I am sure you are one of those APC fan club people. Don't be blinded by stipends pls.

Only a fool will miss the politics behind the writeup. The whole writeup is geared towards casting Ngige as independent candidate. Casting him as independent candidate will further improve his chance in the election. Don't be fooled, there is deluge of ACN money in Anambra right now and it's not gonna stop until Ngige wins

Only a fool will fail to realize that there is no smoke without fire. And after all Ngige is a backstabbing betrayal

When did you get this job? Hi. Have you resigned from your job of arranging ashawo for them? Why did you copy only the part of the news that favour you in that article and carefully avoided the part where the same APC vehemently denied your claims? I didnt expect any better from you, knowing you background. Keep insulting Ngige while he is on ground, putting finishing touches to his re-election bid.

Well if getting ashawos for politicians is what you do then fine, I wont judge you based on that but pls do not look for an accomplice. The truth is that Ngige is bad news and we all know it. So you APC people that have nothing better to do than support a failed party and failed candidate well goodluck.
For your information Ngige is the one putting himself in trouble, everywhere he goes he brings calamity upon himself, just imagine him slapping a cleric shocked
Well I wouldn't expect anything less from him

PDP cannot attack Ngige's performance record, so they use tribe and religion to get votes.

Tinubu this, Tinubu that. Both men are equally former Governors, there is very little difference in power between them.

Please point of correction Ngige was never a governor. He stole the mandate, an election rigger!!!
If it were in a more developed country, he would be in jail or even be stopped from ever campaigning.

Good to hear that you have repented from plying your ashawo "arrangee" trade. But you didnt tell me why you didnt copy the whole report in that article. Why didnt you also copy the refutal/denial of your information by the same APC? I see, your next line of lies/tirades is to use the name of holy institution of Catholic. Beware, you will remain cursed forever for bringing the priesthood to disrepute.
