kobonaire: And that is a proper football pitch too
the game is bveing played in Morocco...and like someone said, Clabar is not our best pitch, there are better ones in Abuja, Lagos and even Uyo, but who give 2 shiits bout the pitch when we've qualified? I didn't read on any site that the game was played on a bad pitch.

@1,2 funny you should talk, isn't this the Ethiopian team that beat your Bafana Bafana to get to this stage? Please y'all can talk when you actually qualify for such tournaments without it being based on your hosting it

I take great exception as to why we played on a bad pitch...
1) It affected our game - it was quite obvious from their play. I am happy we got the result but cannot deny that SE were lacking their normal flow
2) If we have better stadia and pitches then why are we not playing there? We are the so called giants of Africa, why can't we showcase our country's infrastructures to the world instead of playing on this C grade pitch?
PS: You do not need to read it on any website that the pitch was bad, just watching the game was enough evidence that the pitch was not worthy of a football power house like the super eagles.

Money: NFF is perpetually broke and they will go to any state whose governor is prepared to foot their bill, regardless of the quality of the pitch. At half time, the Golden Eaglets presented the World Cup trophy to Governor Imoke, because he was like their adopted father. He paid their hotel and transport bills and covered their other expenses during the qualifiers and preparations for the U17 World Cup.

In the mid-2000s, Eagles matches were often played in Port-Harcourt because Governor Odili was always ready to foot the bill (there was controversy when he gave both the Eagles and the Black Stars money, during a dinner after a world cup qualifier. The Liberians claimed that it was evidence of match fixing).

We failed to qualify for Germany 2006, partly because only the Kano State Government agreed to fund the match against Angola. Our Europe based players were not used to the heat in Kano.

Tomorrow, Cameroon v Tunisia will kick off at 3pm. The 1st leg in Rades ended goalless, expect a very tense game in Yaounde.

I just saw the CONCACAF qualification victors, and the way CONCACAF is structured, USA is almost always guaranteed a slot in the FIFA World Cup, regardless of the fact that their team sucks.

that would be another interesting and entertaining game. It would make the most anticipated game of the 2nd leg of play-offs, followed by the Algeria vs. Burkina Faso

Continent favours some teams.

Japan is always the first team to qualify after the host country
