well I like Mr President honesty, the next point of action is that Please don't attempt to start dreaming about second term, I respect your view with regard to the way you spoke about the state of the Nation (Nigeria) there are people out there that can tackle the challenging security issues, I will like you to be a noble and honourable man by looking for that individual who can tackle the nation security issues and use your political power to get them there, Nigeria is getting to that point the enemy belief we are breaking up and there are signs, It does not matter if the person is Northern, Southern as long they can do the job

my 1 cent advice

God bless Nigeria

Meaning you can't do the job? Why don't you resign? Who is supposed to bring peace in this country? Aren't you the chief of the army?

Your speech is embarrassing to say the least, we don't need a weak president ,that begs for sympathy.
Pathetic

If you are doubting the ineptitude, gross incompetence and incapabilities of your president, there goes another indicator, confirmed by himself!

It's a no brainer, Nigeria has been plodding along over the last few years and infact for several years without a leader

What you have in Aso Rock today is a puppet, an effigy, a dunce and whatnot .....

Nigeria died a long time ago!

The shoeless one is clearly telling us that he's incompetent and clueless, he doesn't know what to do yet his lapdogs are raining curses on people who have been speaking the truth. Gej can't handle the position and should resign .

the art of thinking and putting two and two together is magic itself....now if mr president says his administration cannot perform 'magic', what should I conclude??that every member of his administration cannot think
In that case, the president should just stop dreaming of this second term thing so that people that can perform 'magic' can come on board...God gave us all brains...not everybody wants to use theirs its a matter of choice

A good leader should inspire his/her team. When the president of a country talks with air of hopelessness around him,
the whole country is doomed.

The essence of campaign during elections is to inform the people that the aspirants understand the problems and
will proffer solutions if elected. One should not go for a job interview, get the job and turn around to tell the
employers that he/she cannot perform magic in discharging the basic responsibilities of the job. To even voice it
out is a corporate abomination.

Nigerians are too dormant that any ogogoro man can walk over them with impunity. I wish things get harder for Nigerians.
Perhaps that may jolt them from the slumber they are currently enjoying. Apparently, they can only learn the way.

Pukkah: President  Goodluck Jonathan on Wednesday said despite his desire to transform the country, his government could not perform magic in an atmosphere of violence.

He said economic development could not be achieved in a nation devoid of peace.

Jonathan spoke shortly after he was conferred with the 2013 Africa Peace Award of the United Religions Initiatives at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The President also said for the country to witness economic development, there must be internal democracy and stability.

“There is no way a government can perform magic when people are shooting gun. shocked There cannot be economic development without peace. For you to develop economically there must be peace and political stability.  Government creates conducive environment for private sector to thrive and create jobs,” he said.

He also stressed the need for African leaders to continue to govern their countries in the right way.

While dedicating the award to Nigerians, who he said gave him the opportunity to serve, Jonathan called on Nigerians especially youths to give peace a chance.

Jonathan said he and his government were fully committed to a peaceful world.

He said, “Even when countries are fighting, at the end of the day, they will still come to the dialogue table to resolve their differences. They have hardly solve crisis through the barrel of the gun, even if you had the most sophisticated  weapon to fight, they will still come to negotiate otherwise you can never live in peace.

“So, let me call on all Nigerians especially the young people, if you come to the southern part of this country you hear about militancy, kidnapping and if you go to the North you have this issue of Boko Haram.

“For us to develop our country, we must all embrace peace.”

He promised to continue to work to foster peace in spite of the challenges facing the country.

The Regional Director of URI, Ambassador Mussie Hailu, said the award was in recognition of Jonathan’s contributions to religious harmony in Nigeria  and peace keeping operations under the United Nations.

He said, “We have been following with great interest the great role the President play in his country, West Africa and Africa as a whole since he assumed office as President of Nigeria.

“We commend his leadership qualities in the West African sub-region in particular as  ECOWAS Chairman and also lauded the current transformation agenda of his administration.”

The President is making sense ,
All he is saying is that all warring parties should come for dialogue n negotiations so that we can move forward as a nation.
Militancy was not solve by military power but when the agitators came to the round table and present their matters , why cant Boko Haram if at all they are genuine come to the table with their grievances .
And the Yoruba pen warriors shun ethnicity and move forward to progress

So because notherners throw bombs there can't be development in ogun ,ondo ,edo, kogi, taraba, benue or bayelsa and other non boko states and curiously those violence did not stop the massive looting by Jonathan and his co_travellers . This defences are too weak, should not be coming from someone with a phd its a shame .

I would like to see people condemning the president here to run for political positions and even the presidency in order to fix their country instead of lamenting on the internet all the time.

You don't sit down on the internet and expect your country to be fixed, if you know that the people doing it are not better than you then why not go there to do it properly?.

You get the drift and people just think a president just suddenly changes the country or it is dependent on so many factors like the one presented by the president.

Mr president lacks leadership quality and maturity. But FG can perform magic when it comes to looting of our common resources?. FG can perform magic when it comes to protecting government criminals in our midst? FG can perform magic when it comes to using the instruments of state power to go against those who have contrary views and opinion in the society? F**k them all those whose actions and inaction have brought our country to its lowest ebb. Crinminals
