THE Christ Apostolic Church Good Women Association of Ijesha Land District Coordinating Council has praised the performance of the Osun State governor, Rauf Aregbesola, since he assumed office almost three years ago.

The CAC women Association, who paid a courtesy call on the governor in Osogbo, said the beneficial programmes of government are now the talk of the town.

The leader of the group, Lady Evangelist J. K. Orimogunje, said CAC women know and appreciate the ongoing school reform because it is directed at reshaping and securing the future of school children in the state.

Orimogunje, who is also the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Chairperson in Ijeshaland, equally mentioned other laudable programmes of government in education, health, welfare and security, like the OYES scheme, monthly welfare scheme for vulnerable elders (Agba osun), school feeding scheme, free uniform initiative, eye surgery and free breast cancer test.

“We what to tell this government that we have intimated ourselves with the restructuring ongoing in the education sector and we approve of it in its totality because we know the ultimate beneficiaries are our school children, who are our tomorrow.

“Indeed, you are God-sent to the State of Osun and we the Good Women of CAC Ijesha District coordinating council know your worth and salute your courage in doing all that you are doing,” Orimogunje said.

She said that the move of the governor has been misconstrued by many people, who are alleging an Islamisation agenda. According to her, the governor is impartial to all religions.

She noted that Aregbesola’s impartiality, therefore, informed the decision by the CAC Women to select him as life patron of their organisation so as to demonstrate to the whole world how fairly he treats all religious organisations.

In his response, the governor commended the boldness of the group in coming out to commend the achievement of government and supporting its programmes and policies, particularly the school restructuring.

Aregbesola said things have gone so bad that the efforts of government look like an oasis in a vast desert.

He, however, promised that government would not rest on its oars until life become better and comfortable for the people in the state.

“I want to commend your group for this visit. I can say that yours is one of the first organisations that has studied government’s programmes elaborately and come out with a better understanding and appreciation of what we are doing.
