This guy men.. in the USA everybody has number if u don't have it u can't buy or rent hus or even work.. This the only way forward.. it has nothing to do with the yeye mark of the beast. Nigeria and their religious mentality. sad

Ofcourse, the rest of the world will get there too, to enable to world govt to govern the world from a central system, and fish out those who will reject the laws they will force down their throat when the time comes.

That's the way forward for now, but in the fullness of time it will become bondage.

mekaboy: Well its bound to happen. All this is in preparation to usher in the man of lawlessness(anti-christ). It will be the same worldwide. Eventually there will be one world currency and govt. Since ur bank details, is linked to ur finger print. You will not have access to ur funds unless u have the mark of the beast.

Its happening before our eyes.
Don't mind all those hurling insults at you. Most of them know the truth but they choose to ignore. Many of them were raised in homes where they were taught the word of God.They went to Sunday school & learned memory verses. At the bus stop,in Schools, prisons, markets, all these places & many others never lack preachers of the Gospel to teach people the truth. So they know but just choose to act indifferent to the knowledge of God.Let us pray for those who do not know God,that He'ld reveal Himself to them.Otherwise Rev 22:11 says "Let the one who does what is evil continue to do what is evil.Let the filthy person continue to do what is filthy.Let the righteous person continue to do what is right. And let the holy person continue to be holy."The one who has an ear will hear.

Me_Aboki: They should consider face recognition technology instead.

Hmm. Na wa for U o. We are complaining of finger amputation and U are suggesting of Face recognition. Omo that one go be head Amputation and we all knows what that means. Well I have never used ATM since I started banking since 1999 though am being charged for withdrawal and I do a lot of transactions but with careful planning and determination not to use the ATM but am ok with it cos banks fraud customers via ATM and If they force people to Use this new technology (finger print), I will just go back to the traditional way of saving money.

smart134: even if they have ur thumb...they dnt have the password

With fingerprint technology, you don't need password. It is already embedded in the system the first time you
log in.
This is how it works.

1. You log in using card and password.
2. Then at the prompt, you scan your index finger 3 times.
3. The machine reads the prints and associate them with the card and password.

So next time to initiate transaction, you will only scan your index finger.

The draw back is that sometimes those freaking scanners do not work and will keep rejecting your fingerprint.
Thus access denied. Na real wahala o!

Personally, I find them very annoying!

Wrong info. No finger print is replacing ATM cards. All Banks are just gonna take a biometrics of all its clients for better services. Period. Stop posting wat u don't understand.

sambas: The Central Bank of
Nigeria and the Bankers
Committee on Tuesday
sealed a biometric
solution pact with a
German Firm,
Dermalog, for the
development of a
payment system that
would be driven by
fingerprints.
The move, according
to the Governor, CBN,
Mr. Lamido Sanusi, will
help to revolutionise
the country’s payment
system.
For instance, unlike the
current practice where
different instruments
are used as means of
identification, bank
customers will from
2014 be identified
through their
fingerprints.
Sanusi, while speaking
at the signing of the
agreement, which was
held at the central
bank’s headquarters in
Abuja, noted that the
system would become
operational on
February 14, 2014.
The move followed the
recommendation of a
sub-committee chaired
by the Group
Managing Director,
Zenith Bank Plc, Mr.
Godwin Emefiele.
The committee, made
up of the Group
Managing Directors of
Access Bank Plc, First
Bank of Nigeria
Limited, United Bank
for Africa Plc, Union
Bank of Nigeria Plc and
Skye Bank Plc, had
shortlisted Dermalog as
the company to
develop a database for
the banking sector.
Emefiele said, “The
company that was
awarded the contract
has been given a very
ambitious deadline,
and before the contract
was awarded, it agreed
that it would deliver in
90 days.
“The first phase of the
project will connect
the central data to the
banks as well as the
central bank and the
Nigeria Interbank
Settlement System. We
believe that the
company will do so,
and by February 14,
2014, we are all very
optimistic and looking
forward for a gift from
the banking industry.
“The cost of the project
is above $50m and the
banks, in their wisdom
and in line with their
collaborative efforts,
are going to be sharing
the cost of the project,
and no customer is
going to be charged
for this project.”
Explaining the reason
for the project, Sanusi
said it would help to
provide a single
biometric database that
would serve the
purpose of
authentication as well
as address the issues of
money laundering,
fraud, credit extension
and financial inclusion.
He said, “The vision is
that this will go beyond
the banks and it is a
very tight deadline that
I have set for the
committee and the
committee has
discussed with
Dermalog; and in three
months, we can
officially say that every
single Nigerian bank is
connected to the
system; and hopefully
in the coming months,
we will expect every
customer of every
branch of every bank
in Nigeria to have
complied to this, but it
goes beyond the
banking system.
“We have about a
thousand microfinance
banks; we have
customers of pension
fund administrators; we
have customers of
insurance companies;
we have people who
deal with the stock
market, and the vision
for this is that everyone
that deals with the
financial system should
have his biometric data
captured, and this will
be used for
identification,
verification and
authentication.”
Sanusi said the project
would not have any
negative impact on the
national identity card
project, adding that the
biometric database of
the banking sector
would help to
complement the
Federal Government’s
identity management
project.
He said, “For a long
time, we have been
waiting for the national
identity card system
and progress is being
made, and I will like to
use this opportunity to
let everybody
understand that the
banking industry
project is not in any
way incompatible with
the national identity
process.”

Why do we have such educated illiterates? Why embrace Technology without due consideration of effects? U.S spying spree isn't taught us any lesson..... Why be first to embrace a tech. You can't control. This isn't priority. What a waste?

What atavistic notion makes You think tech. operation makes a nation advanced. It rather makes them dependent. you're far withdrawn from the essence of society. Some folks can't see beyond their bedroom. Apparently, Privacy is not a word you're familiar with...when you're still stuck with parents. Let me give You a tip bobby..any man who possess your Biometrics and routine 's a potential enemy. FACEBOOK, GOOGLE, YAHOO,TUBE,alls done. You ever consider the effect if all these be combined. Me_Aboki: They should consider face recognition technology instead.
I currently have finger print security pass for my laptop and the thing isn't always reliable, moisture and small amount of grease on the finger sometimes to affects it; besides, though funny and at the same time horrible to contemplate, the risk of finger amputations at the hands of criminals is quite a serious and realistic concern worthy of giving other options a good look.

Yes, I know all about the social implications that such forms of technologies can bring. I was clearly referring to the guy's reference to anti-christ and mark of the beast and all such superstitious jargons. Obviously your point of view of the negative effects of such a technology is rational.

Or do you agree with him that such innovation is a sign of the mark of the best? whatever that means.

you don't know what you're saying, if the pin is involved then why do you need fingerprint at all?. Is there anything wrong with the pin?. All I knw is that the END is drawing near.
