Governor Peter Obi And His Godson Willie Obiano Part 2 by emrall: 8:54am On Nov 09, 2013
For a political party to think of winning an election is to have a reliable voting block. In United State of America, the Democrats have African Americans. Hispanics, Asian Americans, and large number of the white youths as their voting block while the Republicans have the elderly whites and a small percentage of white youth, hence the reason the Republicans are losing the presidential seat. In the present Anambra state election, it seems to me that Obi has lost all his voting blocks hence the difficulties in selling his candidate Willie Obiano to the people of the state. Every effort to bring people to like Willie is hitting the brick wall. Anambra State has presently four main voting block, which is comprised of 1. Market men and women and village farmers. 2. The unemployed. 3. The state civil service workers. 4. The students. These blocks make the majority of Anambra state electorate. There are no doubts that the eight years of Obi as the governor of Anambra state have been a disappointment to the people and to the four voting block. The Catholic base which happened to vote for Obi in the last election due to Ojukwu's plea to the people seems now to have been lost too. Obi seems to have not been aware that the people have no more confidence in him, or perhaps he is carried away by APGA Internet campaign warriors whom most of them are not residing in Anambra state or in Nigeria.

The fall of APGA started when Obi refused to create jobs for the people instead he placed an embargo on the recruitment of workers into Anambra state civil service, which happened to be the only available place the unemployed can find a job. The embargo remained in place until last month when he lifted it for recruitment of workers as a way to canvass for votes. The odds against APGA are so many. Again, it is most certain that Anambra state civil service workers will not vote for APGA because of non of payment of their salaries as at when do. Sometimes, they are owed up to 5 months. To be honest, Anambra workers have suffered a lot in the hand of Obi. Sometimes, the workers have to go borrowing to put food on the table or to pay school fees for their wards or to take their sick loved ones to the hospital all because Obi refused to pay them their salaries.

Another voting block is the market men and women. This block will find it a hard task to cast their vote for Peter Obi because of the incessant taxation of many kinds the traders are subjected to pay and refusal to pay the tax, their wares will be confisticated, and sometime their shops are locked. The most annoying and pitiful of all these are the poor women selling ordinary tomatoes, crayfish and vegetables in the market that are also subjected to incessant taxation. The last tax introduced a few weeks ago was the Sanitation tax which forced the traders to match on protest to the government house Awka. The same market women and men are the ones taken the brunch of unemployment. When their children cannot get a job after education, the responsibility of their children care once again fall on the parents instead of the children caring for their parents. Another is the students. It is most likely that APGA will miss their vote in the sense that while tertiary institution fees of other states like Imo state, Abia state, etc. are coming down to 58 to 70 thousand Naira Anambra state tertiary institution fee is increasing to 120 thousand Naira and continue to increase.

Anambra unemployed graduates, which is the highest in Nigeria and in West Africa sub-region will not vote for APGA because while other states are trying to create employment for their University graduates obi is placing embargoes on employment into Anambra state civil service even though he did not create a single job for them to get employed to earn salaries and give a helping hand to their parents who sacrificed everything and sometime went borrowing to give them University education. According to an insider in the Anambra state government house, he said that during one of the meetings in the Anambra state house, a director in the ministry of education confronted Obi with the risen tertiary institution fee in the state Obi looked at him smiled and said, if the students cannot pay let them go and look for a job. It is not a must that everyone must attend university, and that it will also help to reduce graduate unemployment in the state. It was there that he told them that he was considering handing over the schools back to missionary to reduce the weight of teacher's salary payment on the state government. Six months later Obi handed some schools over to the missionaries.

Who among the Anambra unemployed graduates can come out and say he received a soft loan from the Anambra government to start up a business or a small-scale industry? None, because there is no such program in Anambra state. Which of our farmers has received a soft loan? None, because the program is only on the pages of newspapers. Who can point to one person employed in the Anambra civil service since Obi took office? None, because Obi placed an embargo in Anambra state civil-service employment.

Anambra state lacks security. Our children are afraid to come home because of kidnap and arm-robbery. In the past eight-year pipe born, water has not run in Awka the capital of the state. A newly constructed road is supposed to last 20 years, but roads constructed by Obi cannot stand two rainy season without being repaired and sometime remain unrepaired until it starts taking lives of motorists. The only visible thing he did in Awka the state capital for the eight years of his administration is the Teaching Hospital, which is not even well equipped. In the office as the governor of Anambra state Obi built a private Shopping Mall in Abuja and employed more than 5000 workers, which most of the workers are northerners. He also established a private brewery company in Onitsha and gave Anambra state less than 4% share. While he was building all these personal investment Anambra workers were owed five months salary. Not long ago Anambra workers took him to court over non-payment of salaries. Below is the court order to freeze Anambra account in Fidelity bank over non-payment of worker's Salaries by Gov Obi of Anambra State. (If you are a government worker under Obi government, you will know how much non-payment of salaries hurts) while the workers are suffering Fidelity Bank was doing business with their wages and making profit.

Peter Obi said that paying elected local government official is a waste of money hence he refused to conduct an election that would have helped reduce the number of unemployed in Anambra state. It is like the old saying that when one crosses a bridge, he asks that the bridge be broken so that others do not cross. Is that not inhumanity to man and selfishness? Imagine the number of people the council election would have given employment, Imagine how many people would have afforded to put food on the table, for their children. Imagine how many children would have been able to go school had Obi conducted the election since eight years ago. Governor Obi which his duty is to provide jobs for the people denied the citizen's local government job on the ground that paying their salaries will be a waste of money. The same excuse he gave to deny the Anambrarians employment into Anambra state civil service.

The followings are budgetary allocations received by the Obi government in the last eight years:

2006 - 35.87 billion naira; 2007- 54.25 billion naira; 2008- 60.58 billion naira; 2009 - 75.53 billion naira; 2010 - 67 billion naira; 2011- 66.9 billion naira; 2012- 103.2 billion naira; 2013- 110.89 billion naira, totalling 603.42 billion naira after tax.
http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/01/fg-states-lgas-squander-n80-trn-in-9-years/.

He also recieved local government allocation, but due to our inability to find the current local govt allocation we dicided use the 2004 allocation of 1,169,882,344.37 billion naira to the state as an example.

Multiply 1,169,882,344.37 billion naira by 8 years of Obi in office. It will be equal to 9,359,068,654.96 billion Naira. Then. add to 603.42 billion naira state allocation of 8 years of Obi in office.

1,169,882,344.37 by 8 years= 9,359,068,654.96 billion Naira.
9,359,068,654.96 billion Naira + 603.42 billion naira after tax.=

Add internally generated revenue which is two times more than the federal allocation to the state
Add 2.8 billion Naira monthly OIL derivations to Anambra state
Add the money allocated to the state for conducting local govt election which Obi never conducted.
Add grants, loans, aid, ecology funds special funds of different kinds.
Where are all these monies? Where is it located in Anambra state soil because I can see none?

Available records show that Fidelity Bank was not able to post a profitable year until Governor Peter Obi’s accession to the seat of Governor in Anambra State. Nearly one year after Governor Peter Obi became governor, Fidelity Bank posted an increase of 219 per cent profit after tax for the third quarter ended March 31, 2007. Fidelity Bank’s growth remained astronomical in the following years. In 2013, Fidelity Bank announced a profit before tax of N11.2 billion for the half year ended 30th June, 2013, representing 13.3 percent growth over N9.88 billion recorded in the corresponding period of 2012. In 2012, Fidelity Bank announced a growth of 608 percent in its profit after tax for the financial year ended December 31, 2012. Fidelity bank now occupies the sixth position in the Nigeria banking industry.

Obi before becoming the governor of Anambra state was rated between 3 to 4 billion Naira rich. Within 8 years of Obi in power as Anambra State governor, he is rated between 4-5 billion dollars richer. He was able to convince some of the gullible Igbos that Fidelity Bank is Igbo Bank. Therefore, Anambra money should be deposited in Igbo Bank. He sited an example with the WEMA bank as Yoruba Bank where the Yorubas State government deposits their state funds. However, last time I checked, Odua Investment Company Limited has 10% share of WEMA BANK. Odua Investment Company Limited is owned by five Yoruba state government comprising of Oyo, Ogun, Ondo, Osun and Ekiti States while South east state has 0% in Fidelity bank.

Now that the Catholics Bishops and the priests have lost confidence in Obi due to his desperation that coursed the death of so many people in the Uke town crusade. It is obvious that he has lost his political base, which is the Catholic Church. For those who are protecting Obi as the course of the Uke town incidend, you may require to read this too http://www.punchng.com/news/anambra-obi-campaigns-for-catholic-governor/ Obi despiration to win the election to protect Anambra state dealing with Fidelity bank has no boundry. Obi sent his commisioner to go and campaign in the church just after few day his campaign in Uke church sent more than 30 people to grave. Even at warning of the President of Catholic church that politician should stay away from compaigning in the church Obi went ahead to canpaign in the church again. It was such desperation that caused the stampede and deaths at Uke Adoration Ground. Does Obi really have conscience?

He disobeyed Ojukwu's orders and agreement with him and also trying to force Obiano down our throats. Imagine Ojukwu children campaigning for Ngige against their father's party. This will tell you how much Obi bit the finger that fed him. Obi overrated himself, to the extent that he started believing that he is Ojukwu himself and that he has the same influence on the Igbos as Ojukwu that he went and brought his staff from the fidelity bank to come and govern Anambra state. He forgot that Anambra people did not vote for him, but rather they voted for Ojukwu. Peter Obi surrender to PDP will be his only option because APGA has no voting block and will never win the election. If he backs out from the agreement he will have himself to blame. Not only that APGA will lose Anambra state but Peter will lose political relevance in the state and in the country in general.
