gratieao: This fraud happened in Oyo and nobody is crying blue murder

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Tuesday, disclosed that suspects in the alleged N5.6 billion scam in Oyo State will be arraigned tomorrow.

A statement by its spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren read: “The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission will on Thursday, November 7, 2013 arraign a former Oyo State Head of Service, Mrs Kudirat Iyabo Adeleke and 11 other suspects at the Oyo State High Court, Ring Road, Ibadan on charges bordering on conspiracy, stealing and criminal breach of trust.

“The other suspects who will be arraigned alongside Adeleke are Muili Hakeem Aderemi, former Executive Secretary, Oyo State Pension Board; Adedutan Johnson; Oguntayo Banji, former Internal Auditor, Oyo State Pension Board and Kareem Rasheed.

Others are: Muili Adedamola; Adesina Jimoh Ayoade, former cashier, Oyo State Pension Board; Adebiyi Olasumbo Musendia, former Admin Officer, Oyo State Pension Board; Johnson Bosede; Iyabo Giwa, former cashier, Oyo State Pension Board, Adewale Kehinde and Olujinmi Adebayo.

“The suspects are alleged to have stolen the sum of N5.6billion meant for the payment of pensions and gratuities to various categories of retired teachers in Oyo State.”

Creating thread about the fraud will amount to time wasted since it will either hidden or deleted
It will hit the front page if this fraud was commited in an Igbo state. As a one poster said earlier, the meaning of fraud is relative to a Yoruba journalist. If the fraud is commited by a Yorubaman, it is ok or will receive a little media coverage. But if the fraud is alleged to have been commited by a Igboman, it will receive a multiple headline, a rejoinder, day in day out.

So u need to understand this old technique.

gratieao: LETS REASON THIS TOGETHER MY PEOPLE.

This fraud in Oyo State is actually 18 times more in value than Stella’s.

The Oduwduwa Republic fraud committed by the Oyo country is actually 18

times higher in value than Stella’s BMW.

Stella’s BMW = $1.6m (N256m ONLY)

Oyo Pension fraud = N5.6 billion naira

But N256m x 18 = 5.6 billion

So, if people in Oyo stole 18 times more, why did it not generate noise? How

many of those who were writing articles from left, right & centre

concerning Stella had the courage & sincerity of purpose to write about the

Pension fraud in Oyo? If you investigate, you will discover than many of them

might not have even heard about it until today.

So it is in our continent Nigeria. That you are a thief depends on where you

come from. Period. This is the simple fact.

N5.6bn stolen by these idiots covering their faces & people did not

write articles.
u cant see any yoruba newspaper tht will carry the news. They knw hw to cover their own sh**t. Selfish ppl.una no dey thief na igbo ppl thief the pension fund in oyo state

Cos our politician don't get tired of probing us of our destiny. Shame on this country!!!
Maybe your governor is guilty of corruption Stella Oduah is not. Sane people are supporting Stella because they know she is NOT guilty of corruption. Buying of armoured cars or any car for that matter is NOT corruption by itself. It is when you steal govt money and use it to buy the vehicles for YOURSELF, cronies or whatever is of direct benefit to you that is corruption. The cars were bought by and registered in the name of NCAA. Oduah is not NCAA. NCAA is not the property of Oduah.

Not following due process is NOT corruption by itself. It is when you bypass due process for personal gains that is corruption. If for instance, I do not follow due process to save a life or construct a road, it cannot be described as corruption. Not following due process to do the needful or right thing is administrative lapses, but not corruption.

Also till date, NO ONE has proved that the cost of those vehicles was inflated. Some mischief makers simply compared the prices of different specifications of vehicles just to nail the minister.

Anyway, we understand the strategy: give the minister a bad name and crucify her for political reasons or out of ethnic induced hatred. But the strategy is DEAD ON ARRIVAL. Oduah MUST stay!

The message that MUST sink into your dumb skull and that of other tribalists is that Princess Stella Oduah is not corrupt. She is not guilty of corruption. Those supporting her are doing so because they believe she is not guilty of corruption. She may be guilty of administrative lapses or insensitivity but NEVER corruption. The word "Corruption" and Princess Stella Oduah are incompatible. Corruption will always find partnership and care in the safe hands of Tinubu, the most corrupt politician of all time.

gratieao:

President Goodluck Jonathan and the House of Representatives may clash over the probe into the purchase of two bulletproof cars for the Minister of Aviation, Ms Stella Oduah, by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.

SUNDAY PUNCH learnt that Jonathan had no intention of acting on the recommendation of the House committee that probed the scandal.

The NCAA had reportedly paid about N255m for the two bulletproof BMW 760 Li cars. While appearing before the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation in Abuja on Thursday, the NCAA admitted that the Ministry of Aviation approved the purchase of the cars for Oduah. But Oduah had denied any wrongdoing, but blamed her aides and the acting Director General of the NCAA for the scandal.

The House had recommended that Jonathan should sack the minister for exceeding the official limit in approving the purchase of the two bulletproof cars while sanctions were also recommended for the former acting Director General of NCAA, Nkemakolam Joyce, and the agency’s Director of Finance, Salawu Ozigi.

The panel also reportedly sought for the immediate termination of a loan agreement of N643, 088,25 to finance the purchase of 54 vehicles (including the armoured vehicles) between the NCAA and the First Bank of Nigeria; Coscharis Motors Limited is to be asked to refund the N255m meant for the bulletproof vehicles while the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission should investigate the company for alleged abuse of waivers.

It also called on Nigerians to mount necessary pressure to ensure the probe of Oduah. It made the call after the Presidency told SUNDAY PUNCH on Friday that it was not under any obligation to implement the probe report that indicted Oduah.

A very reliable source in the Presidency told one of our correspondents on Friday that the President was not legally bound to act on the recommendations.

The source said if Jonathan had wanted to act on the report, he would not have bothered to set up a three-man administrative panel headed by a former Head of Service of the Federation, Mr. Sali Bello, to probe the same matter.

He stated that the President knew from inception that a lot of interests would play out in the House of Representatives probe, hence his decision to set up his own probe panel.

He said, “I am sure you are aware that the President also set up an administrative panel to probe this matter.

“If he has confidence in the House of Representatives probe and is duty-bound to implement its resolution, he would not have bothered to set up a separate probe panel.

“The position of this government from inception has been that the resolutions of the National Assembly should be seen strictly as what they are: they are simply advisory and the President is not legally bound to implement them.

“Let us all wait for the President’s administrative panel to conclude its work and see whether he will implement the report or not.”

The House, however, expressed no surprise about the Presidency’s alleged disposition to its recommendations.

“It is the duty of the Executive to implement reports; if they say they will not implement, it is left to Nigerians to judge,” House spokesman, Mr. Zakari Mohammed, said.

“In plenary, we shall take a formal position on the matter. We will respond to the Presidency appropriately. We would have been surprised if they accepted to implement the report.”

Mohammed further accused the Presidency of deliberately shunning the House resolutions.

“There are 36 bills passed by the National Assembly awaiting presidential assent, which has not been done. They don’t act on our resolutions; that we know. It is left to Nigerians to judge; it is their turn to decide,” he said.

The conspicuous ride of idiocy as shown in the above article is one the reasons I vehemently call for disintegration of Nigeria. I can not continue to regards the hammerheads as compatriots. For umpteenth time, NCAA did not buy armored BMW cars for Princess Stella Oduah. NCAA bought the cars for operational duties within the rim of ministry of aviation.

What is hard for goons on Punch staff not to understand between ministry of aviation and minister of aviation? NCAA bought the cars for the operations carried out by the ministry of aviation. Why would NCAA buy armored BMW cars for Stella Oduah? Are the cars for her birthday gifts?

Please, let us have some patience. This Stella's issue is a very sensitive one and I think GEJ has proven to be smart enough to know that he has to be objective about handling it. I believe he has his reasons for calling for a presidential committee to review the rep.'s report. To me, he has not done anything unexpected. He is only being wise, especially as his kinsmen are involved in the scandal. Without any supports for corruptions of any sorts, let's see it that his people are his people and he will inevitably go back to them when all this show is finally over.He has to prove to everyone beyond every reasonable doubt whether Ms Stella was guilty or not before deciding on accepting and implementing the recommendation of the house, which I guess he thinks is biased.

gratieao: Any president that acts on a politically motivated report is clueless. The president is right in empaneling his own committee to report to him on the crises instead of accepting the report of the house committee that only last week interviewed the aviation minister. This is the same house that said Amaechi was right in flying a plane without documentation. This house report was rushed through and tastes like half baked bread. The presidential committee report will guide the president’s actions on this matter not the half baked report from the house.
