I have been going through the case of Mrs Chime and it reminds me of what we always discuss on this family section regarding some Nigerian women

She cried out that she was detained by the Governor

The Governor attempted to set her free, Now she has rejected that she doesnt want to leave because of the perks of being first lady

This buttresses one of the points that poverty and laziness is what promotes abuse in Nigerian marriages

I heard the woman Clara is not even the first wife

firstly, all parties need to agree mental health issues are involved in the matter.

secondly, your statement does not explain why rich nigerians still have abusive marriages.

as per #1, since all parties involved, including the complainant, agree mental health issues are a factor, then the topic should address that as well.

@ bolded. Yes, the governor is quite the innocent angel isn't he?

*eye roll*

With that being said, the confusion and drama in that family has no part 2. The fact that she reached out publicly would seem to suggest that she was ready to take off the kid's gloves and damn it all to hell. So it now seems weird that she wants to come back as his wife after going for her treatment abroad. I would have thought she would just leave, get treatment and later focus on getting her payday in court since he wants to bounce her unceremoniously.

But the truth is that we don't know all that has gone on behind the scenes that now makes her want to 'save her marriage' and continue to enjoy the perks. Too many unanswered questions.

I think the Governor and Clara reached an agreement to protect the Governor's image. Her declaration was very damaging to the governor and I can bet you they reached some form of agreement. This woman called Femi Falana and he confirmed they both spoke about her case. For her to suddenly make a u-turn suggests to me that lots of other things have transpired between the two.

Chime is a serial womaniser according to sources. I believe he truly put her under house arrest but now that she has cried out, he had to slow down because of his political career. In the end, serious money must have changed hands between the couple in addition to several other promises.

The governor is not innocent and has made it clear he isnt innocent. I read on NL that Clara Chime was actually a friend of Chimes daughter from Chimes original marriage.

If you are wondering why she does want to come back the answer is MONEY. The first wife Who i heard is a Judge walked out of the marriage to the philandering man but this Clara is still hanging on why? Is it because she loves him or want to save her marriage? No

Its because she is lazy wants to continue enjoying the perks of being governors wife.

It was even reported the Governor got her younger sister too pregnant.

The same man who you claimed was abusing you, You want him to send you abroad, pay the bills for your treatment and shopping and you afterwards want to return to the same abusive marriage.

The governor want to set her lose that she should leave he even wanted to forcefully remove her from the Governors house but she declined

She now claims she want to be sent abroad for treatment and shopping and later return to continue as first lady

isn't the woman mentally-ill?
protecting her from the public should be the logical thing to do. the woman then managed to get near a phone & screamed she was held against her will. that's the problem with today's women.

you attempt to protect them then you are too possessive or being too abusive. ignore them & you are not caring enough. maybe she would have loved it if the governor had uploaded a youtube clip of her having fits & foaming in the mouth.

That is why I said serious money must have changed hands between the couple in addition to several other promises. She is married to a governor, she sef must clean out before 2015!

She wants to leave the governor yet enjoy the perks of being governors wife. Its confusing. How do you want to stop being Mrs Coogar yet continue to enjoy the benefit of being Mrs coogar

The stuff I always say about women wanting the benefits but not the responsibilities attached to it.

Clara's ideal resolution would be for Chime to divorce her yet let her continue to live in Governors house with all the allocation, escorts, cook travels and owambe

Help understand how that works. The only one I respect in this is the first wife who walked out and never looked back

I think what happened was the Governor called her and her family and stated to them the conditions of separation which she never expected

Which might include stuffs like immediate eviction from Govt house, Withdrawal of all ATM cards and access to accounts, withdrawal of all security details, Eviction of her parents from the governor bought house, cars etc they are enjoying. Immediate demotion from Governors wife who attends all function and is respected to Mrs Nobody.

When she realized the impact, that was when she backtracked

1. The wife never admitted she is mentally sick Its the Chime side thats pushing the mental illness story probably to justify the detention.

2. Financial status has no bearing on marital abuse. Rich Americans, Germans, Britons, Japanese all have abusive marriages as well

she probably feels she is in the UK/USA...
talk about eating one's cake & still wanting to keep some in one's derrière.

The stuff I always say about women wanting the benefits but not the responsibilities attached to it.

hahahahaha....
she would blame the husband - she would bring up a story how she wanted to work & she was prevented from working. greedy woman - she still wants to be the first lady of her state without being a wife of the governor.

he should kick her out if she wants out.
she should vacate her first lady's office & let someone else run her office. she does not even have the mental capacity to be a first lady - divorce or not!!

Re: The Case Of Clara Chime- Enugu First Lady by baby124: 6:24pm On Nov 11, 2013
This is the way i see it. Well, he confined her at home like a mental patient. This mental situation he caused through his actions. i.e, picanto driving babes of Enugu staring at madam daily. And her sister's child who also belongs to Chime. She cried out over the detention and bad treatment, he claims she is fit for an Aro patient. But since he is a political figure, he wants to keep her like a monkey in a cage to save his image. He even presents her to the world with a neuro psychiatrist to prove she is mentally incapable of taking care of herself. After so much pressure, which my humble self contributed to. He now wants to chase her away with nothing. Now, let us see what Clara has got to lose from all this jamboree. If she leaves him, and he throws her out. How will she get the much "needed" care she desires. Also, who in thier right mind will ever accept to marry someone who was declared mentally insane by a neuro psychiatrist.

He has already destroyed her image to the world, and has attached a stigma to her. So now, she is his cross and he might as well bear it. Get her the best care she need, cook for her, clean for her. And wear hot boxers for her. That is all i have to say to this. He created this monster, he must take care of it. We all have repercussions for our actions. Even if she is outside of his house, he must take care of her because he caused all this for the mother of this child.

Is Clara greedy, yes she probably is. But he married her knowing she was a runs girl. So what is new. Also note, that he threatened to disown her son if she continued seeking her freedom. I think this is part of the package he is throwing her out with. She doesnt want her child to suffer for the issues of its parents. So she may for that reason, be holding on to this madness of a marriage. Between the two of them, i think Chime is the one that needs help. A man that is more concerned with what is under a skirt, than the happiness of his family does not deserve any consideration or pity. I rest my case here. LOL.

Peculiar mess!

I think Clara is not herself now. All her actions should not be judged from a sole window of rationality. If anything, we should be demanding Chime sends her to a good clinic/hospital to cater her needs. After that, the couple may decide to either end or continue their union.

Did she say she did not want to leave because of the perks of office? Why are you putting words into her mouth? If she does decide to leave let her leave honorably. A lot is her fault anyway. The husband tried 2 protect her but now the laundry is out!

How I see it from Nollywood perspective, Clara (Patience ozokwu) met Babalawo and they both used jazz to chase away Chime's(Jim Iyke) wife that is a Judge(Omotola sexy)... Along the line Omotola after crying her heart out learns about TB Joshua and she goes to the synagogue and picks the anointed water and prayed with it, immediately after the prayers ( video effects of light left chime and went straight and hit Clara ) the whole thing backfired. Chime's eyes opened and he brought back his first wife,. And yes ofcourse, they lived happily ever after.... #nollywoodtinz

PLEASE correct me if I am wrong but have neutral, UNBIASED Dr.s certified/verified/evaluated that woman as mentally unfit? Why do you all feel qualified to assume that she is actually SICK? It will be a travesty of justice if by our callous words we further traumatize the victim. Dr. Chime pays the piper so he is dictating the tune. He must be desperate to get Clara out of the way and so will resort to any means possible. He that can impregnate his wife's sister might as well kill her. That letter to SR did not seem written by a woman so unstable that she hallucinates...At this rate I hope she doesn't get strangled and we find an arranged suicide note.

the governor said so - he actually told the media people to interview her doctors & do their own investigation. how more transparent can the governor be for you folks to believe he's speaking the truth?
