The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Anambra on Tuesday said that the movement of persons and vehicles would be restricted between midnight on Friday, November 15 and 10 p.m. on Saturday, November 16. This is contained in a statement signed by Chukwuemeka Onukaogu, INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the state. The statement stated that the restriction would affect movement in and out of the state during the period. It declared that the restriction had become necessary for a successful and peaceful conduct of the gubernatorial election in the state scheduled for Saturday, November 16. It, therefore, enjoined anyone or group of persons passing through the state to find an alternative route on the said dates and time. It also said that nobody would be allowed to move around the state with any security details no matter how highly placed urging all concerned to abide by the directives “Anybody who flouts this order will be arrested and prosecuted. “These measures are geared towards a hitch free conduct of gubernatorial election in the state on the aforementioned dates”, the statement further stated. http://premiumtimesng.com/news/149486-anambra-governorship-poll-inec-restricts-movement-bars-security-details-politicians.html
